How to get the perfect Smokey Eyes

Smokey eyes have become a classic party eye makeup look. The secret of this trend’s popularity is that smoky eyes can change your face dramatically, transforming the girl-next-door into a stylish diva.

Once you learn and master these application and blending techniques, the transition will take you only a few minutes. You can then have irresistible-looking eyes, even if they are not big or bright.

Colour

Smoky eyes colour

You will need one black eye pencil, at least two colours of powder eyeshadow, and dark mascara to produce a fantastic smoky eyes effect. Once you have mastered how to do this your confidence will go through the roof and when your friends see what you have done on your eyes they will ask you every time you are going out with them if you will do their eyes too. I promise, just see!!

You will know what I am talking about!

The base colour should be a rich shimmery (not metallic) powder texture. Choose a shade slightly darker than your skin tone. You may choose neutral beige or grey colours for a soft and sophisticated look; or use a bright base for a dramatic look.

The contour colour must be a dark, matte, or slightly shimmery colour. Choose between dark brown, blue, green, or purple, depending on the colour of your attire. Use black with any outfit for a stunning effect.

Whenever you may add a third shade to your smoky eyes: a slightly shimmery highlight colour applied just under the eyebrows. This will enlarge the eye area and also soften any demarcation lines that remain after blending. Your normal facial powder can produce the same result if you are aiming for a more sophisticated look.

Choose soft black eye pencil or kohl for an enhancing all-around contour. Never use liquid eyeliner; it is for crisp lines, not the soft and sultry look we are aiming for here.

We will guide you as to what is the best eyeliner to use and for what occasion.

Get it right and you will look amazing but get it wrong and an in perfect line or application then it will spoil the whole look!

1. White eyeliner can make your eyes look more awake. Swap your regular black pencil for white when you’re looking a tad on the tired side and say good morning to brighter eyes.

Lipstick make Up Team at Mori Sushi had a fabulous night was had by everyone in Downtown Dubai. The event was t mark the opening of the new restaurant where over 200 people gathered to mark the occasion with amazing gives from the DJ, wonderful sushi, great makeup for the Lipstick make Up Institute Team. Many joined in the theme of the evening by wearing onesies which was just great fun to see.

The flow of ladies just kept coming and were great sports and participated in all the nights fun.

Although its amazing to see just how make up with the right technique can change a persons attitude and makes everyone feel part of a culture.

We would say its easy when it comes to the light eye colour.

If you have blue eyes be sure to use the right colours to bring out the eyes more and make you look fresh and glowing.

In case you are using the wrong colours, your eyes can look tired and the purpose of using makeup is to enhance our beauty so its time to talk about the colours to enhance your eyes.

Blue eyes and neutrals as on the green eyes always looks good.

The darker the colour the eyes will look more dramatic when it comes to the eye colour.

Strong dark grey or black contours can make you look the drama queen of the night in a gorgeous edition.

Don’t go over the top, make sure that your are using your blending brush enough and not leaving harsh lines in your eye makeup.

You can’t go wrong with some cream and brown colours with a dash of dark brown or black in the outer corner of he eye.

Smokey Eyes

Smokey Eyes Look Is a perfect makeup look for photo shoots, high fashion looks and for fashion shows. Basically its a simple full smokey look on the top with a transparent lip gloss. The steps of application are the same as the classical one. We need to make sure that the base (eye shadow) is strong ( 2 layers and blended).

Finish the whole makeup and exactly before the photo shooting or stage apply the lip gloss in one thick layer, carefully not to mess up the eye shadows and blending.

Smokey Eyes Application

Apply a transparent (clear) lip gloss on the top of eye shadows, especially on the centre of the lid (moving area of the eye) with a flat eye shadow brush. If you want to create a full wet look on the face you can apply the lip gloss on the high point of the face (top of cheekbones, bridge of the nose, chin, centre of the forehead). The look is ready for the shooting or for the stage. This look is not an everyday makeup.

Smokey Look

The smokey is for fashion shoes or photo shoots. The eye makeup will be spoiled by the lip gloss so make sure that you are in time and quick. The other two ways of creating a wet look is with Vaseline and the 8 hours cream.

More tips for Smokey eyes

Tips and tricks:

Make sure you apply makeup on clean skin. This is VERY IMPORTANT. The makeup will look flawless and fresh on a clean and moisturized skin.
For an even look use a cream foundation and apply it in layers.
Make sure to correct the undertones with the right corrector colour, if the undertones are more into purple we have a warm type, correct it with yellow corrector but if its more bluish we have a cool undertone and will correct it with the peach corrector.
For heavy contouring and highlighting use cream products because they are easy to blend.
Always set your foundation with a translucent powder because it will give you a flawless matt look and will hold your makeup.
Make sure that your eyebrows are plucked and shaped.
For a natural but defined look use eye shadows to fill up your eyebrows.
When working with cream textures on the face and eyes make sure that the foundation and corrector are perfectly blended no creases on the lid.
Apply the base eye shadow evenly on the lid.

Before starting with dark eye shadows apply translucent powder under the eyes to avoid smudges on the skin.
When applying the eye shadows make sure that you are using the right brushes and try to get the perfect transition between the colours.
Apply the micro pigments in layers and carefully
For cleaning the small smudges around the eyes always use dry cotton buds never make them wet because you will ruin the makeup.
Make sure that you are applying the mascara from the roots of the lashes to get the full volume effect.
For an extra glamour look apply high lighter on the apples of the cheeks
To make your lipstick lasting much longer apply foundation on the lips and set it with a translucent powder. Use lip liner to define and correct your lips. For the ultra gloss and shine apply micro pigments on the center of the lips.

2- For a healthy glowing, dewy skin will use the Kryolan Vitacolor foundation and blend it with a sponge.

3- Our models undertones are warm to correct it will use a yellow corrector.

4- Contouring and highlighting with Kryolan Supracolors.

5- Set the foundation with white translucent powder.

6 Define and fill in the eyebrows with dark brown eye shadow.

7- Apply a base colour on the entire eyelid.

8- Contour the upper lash line with black eye shadow

9- For a perfect smokey look smudge the contours with dark brown eye shadow and define the crease lineStep 10 Apply a white gold highlighter under the eyebrows

11- Define the bottom lash line with black eye shadow and smudge it

12- For the absolute glamorous look apply micro pigments on the lid

13- Mascara on the bottom lash line
