Creative Makeup Week

Nothing pleases me more than getting extremely creative students.

During our last leg of the course, our students get their hands “dirty” during the Creative Makeup Week. They work with glitter, metallic paints, latex, fake blood, wax, and everything that as to do with Special Effects makeup. In a way, it’s like Halloween all year round in the institute. hahahaha!

Our International Platinum Course is a Fashion Makeup Course as we work closely with Our Sister company YH Studios DXB who is a Global Award Winning studio. All in all our students are privileged enough to work with the photographers every day. all their models are shot in the studio after makeup. This teaches the students how to become a “REAL” Makeup artist. By this I mean they learn the etiquette of being a makeup artist.

They just don’t learn how to apply makeup but learn how to act in a real shoot & need to understand when it is the right time to correct any makeup or do touch ups. Also understand that its a joint effort in making perfect pictures.

The relationship between Makeup Artist and Photographer is very important. This can be the essence of creating the perfect look. Atmosphere and ambiance really shows in the final image.

Lipstick Makeup Institute Students First Fashion show

This took place @ V11 last week.

SORAYA B. COUTURE AND VAROIN MARWAH AW 2018 FASHION SHOW

Last Friday, June 22 2018, we were able to collaborate with a couple of wonderful designers, SORAYA B. COUTURE and VAROIN MARWAH at VII DUBAI in Conrad Hotel. In cooperation with Fashion TV, our students from the Lipstick Makeup Institute created the looks for the models before they marched their way into the runway. The beautiful models came out with a mixture of blinding gold highlights and fuschia pink cheeks Avant Garde looks.

With the guidance of one of our teachers and the coordinator, the students were challenged to finish their makeup look within 10-15 mins per model in their first ever fashion show.

It was a jam-packed show. The models adorning the designs by Soraya and Varoin gleamed on the cat-walk.

They owned it as they felt so confident in their attire. Shining bright with Soraya’s gowns and make up that gave them confidence to hold their heads up high.

The students are in their last week of training. 6 weeks of intensive training. They started with not much knowledge and now they are leaving with so much that they are bursting at the seams.

They are ready to tackle the outside world and start using all that have learnt along the way.

covered everything from the no makeup look to special effects. One end of the spectrum to the next!

I am so so proud of them that I could cry! It always makes me so happy. I love my students!!

Dubai Modest Fashion Week

We are all really please to be asked to participate in the Dubai modest Fashion Week.

It’s an amazing event.

The first time in the UAE.
this ben in London, Istanbul and New York,

It was inflicted with influencers, bloggers and amazing designers.

The models looked just so beautiful and elegant in the Beautiful designs all ver elegant for Dubais Modest Fashion Week.

There were so many designers that came to Dubai just for this event from all over the world.

As usual, The Lipstick Make Up Institute Teams just love Fashion Shows. We thrive on the adrenalin and the rush of the exciting challenges that the days bring. We love the pressure and th dramatic changes from designer to designer.

This time though there were not too may changes as it the Title of the Show says, The Modern Fashion Show! so hence the makeup had also to be minimalistic and not so pronounced. Delicate and flawless makeup was the dominant feature of the shows. This was so not to take anything away from the designers and the clothes.

I never knew that there so many ways to wear a hijab and look so cool. The clothes were very , ” now” and so in with fashion, we were all so impressed.

We just can’t wait for the next Fashion Show. This is the season of events and the teams are all busy bees.

.We can sail and watch the sunset together on The Palm Jumeirah.

Cannot wait. Congratulations to Everyone!!!!

Hi Guys I’m Chaliya the new head makeup artist here at The Lipstick Makeup Institute.

Im British from the UK, I have lived in Dubai for 4 years.

I have a huge passion for make up. I previously worked for Mac Cosmetics in Dubai & London Harrods, which was what influenced me to become a makeup educator.

“It’s a beautiful thing when a career and a passion come together”

I love being able to pass on my knowledge of makeup to the students & watch them develop into great makeup artists.

I am teaching master classes with the students, where they get to learn all aspects of makeup from beauty to special effects. This is when they can really show their talents. Their imaginations can run wild.

We have many courses for beginners who have no experience in makeup. We teach them everything they need to know.

My 1st out of studio shoot was an amazing experience. In an amazing location in City Walk Dubai.

Working with the sand & water between your toes, out in the sun what more could you want but its was amazing!

Another amazing and talented student stepped out from the studio with her International Certificate for The Silver Makeup Course in Classical Glamorous Looks.

Laila Khan is originally Moroccan living in Dubai.

Her main aim was to study makeup as she is opening a Spa and Beauty Salon in India.

I would definitely suggest this to any salon owners to learn more about the services so they will be more into the whole business.

This is a wonderful thing to do. As an owner you definitely want to know what are your employees doing and also to get more knowledge about the services you are offering.

Laila was a very talented, patient and wanted to learn as much she could for these 5 days.

It was really a pleasure to work with her.

Our focus was on glamorous looks and asian bridal makeup looks. Bright and shiny colours, beautifully blended aye makeups and perfectly applied foundation were the main characteristics of her portfolio work.

As you will see on the pictures of her portfolio we really created a great asian glamour look feeling an all the pictures.

She finished her 5 days course with an excellent grade and wonderful exam work.

Although above all your clients will be so very happy.
