Its that time of year again, halloween is nearly upon us!

I got the girls to get the stage make up out and get practising their spooky skills as we have many bookings over this crazy period that we love. Its different, fun and ever so creative.

We have many projects going on. My team are working at Billionaire Mansion which is in Touch Hotel this week too making the staff look spooky and creating a fun atmosphere in the Club.

There is no pattens really with Halloween make up unless you want something specific. You can just get a face and let your hands and mind start wondering! Thats the fun in it.

Another Successful Make Up Student

We are always so proud that students travel across the globe to choose our make up institute over any other to to teach them the skills that they need to advance them into the world of Make Up.

I am always flattered when I ask them, How did you find us”? and they say that they google, “Make Up Schools in Dubai” and they looked at what all the schools had to offer and they like the look of our website, our testimonials, the work that we do and they see what the students are achieving and we are far ahead of any other make up institute. Hi Everyone!

Well here we are again doing what we love and being crazy in the studio, having fun whilst creating the zombie and old age look on the run up to Halloween when all the goals come out and the broomsticks!! ha ha

We have collected over the years all the facts and tips that we need to create theses looks and thats what make us one if the best make up schools in Dubai.

We all remember the days when everyone dressed up as of vampires to of to fancy dress but zombies are even more exciting as there are no rules, you can have as many cuts and scars as you like. There is no format to applying zombie make up.

And the most we love is to create yet unseen looks and concepts in makeup and showcase it to all of you.

Yesterday was a Creative makeup training day in our Institute for The Lipstick Team.

We love our team and they deserve the best training.

We were presenting 2 completely different looks:

Avant-garde makeup

2. Fantasy makeup – body painting with UV Glow colours

About the Avant-garde style

The term avant-garde refers to innovative or experimental concepts or works, or the group of people producing them. Pushing boundaries with the development of Cubism, Pablo Picasso was part of the early 20th-century art world’s avant-garde. He in fact Personifies this style!

So we were pushing our boundaries and combined loads of different makeup application techniques in our Creative Make Up day.

Of course as always we were using Kryolan products so much glitters, gellafix, crushed mirror, sequences, crystals, Supracolors in colours, Aquacolors and glitter powders and pure colour pigments.

Our concept was to create something different and special.

Inspired by high fashion and fantasy looks, to create an aqua, watery impression followed by glow and shine.

Our models final look is really impressive, different and extraordinary but still she looks beautiful and feminine.

Our another look was inspired by the fantastic Galaxy.

This is how we created the, “Galactical Princess” Look, Sparkly and bright.

Handmade skirt, painted top and collar were the main contents of this look.

It was a real fun look to work on Our Lipstick Teams were fascinated as they had never been involved in anything like this before. A complete transformation before their eyes.

I was applying the UV colours in the dark under the UV light with the whole team watching it.

Of course it was a bit challenging but that was the most interesting part in it.

For the whole look we were using Kryolan products.

Kryolan UV glow aqua colors, UV glow eyeshadows and Hair spray and a free hand to draw some funky lines and splash the colours all over the models body.

Because we really enjoyed creating the look and looking forward to the next project.

I would like to share my first ever training that I attended in Dubai. My motivation to attend the training organised by The Lipstick Make up Institute and the YH Studios Dubai by Yasmin Hussain last June 2016.

Glossy VS Matte

Yesterday we were talking about the luscious, glossy lips.

Today’s topic is The Velvety Matte Lips.

The matte lips can be tricky.

Why?

Because if your lips are dry and cracked the matte lipstick will look really bad and cheap.

The same rules are on when you are prepping the lips for the matte lipstick.

use a scrub to remove the dead skin
lip balm or vaseline is a must
remove the lip balm and make sure your lips are product free
apply a bit of concealer to make sure your lipstick will last all night long
apply lipliner! Its essential, because it defines the lips, you can be more precise and making your lipstick long lasting.
fill up the lips with your matte lipstick. Use a lip brush in this case you will be more precise with lines and the lipstick will look rich and full. Also the lipstick will last more longer. Do long and clean strokes with your lip brush. The texture of the matte lipsticks are more dry then the creamy ones its obvious because of the matte finish. We can suggest you the new Kryolan Matte Lipsticks. They are giving you the perfect matte velvety finish but at the same time the texture is not so dry.

Now it’s time to get on practicing.

The more you practice the better you will be in application the right lipstick colour and your lips will be perfectly defined.

Perfect lips?

Thats the dream of most of us.

How to achieve lips like this?

First of all make sure that your lips are moisturised.
Apply foundation or concealer on your lips to make the colour more intensive

3.Apply lipliner! If you are happy with your lips then just line the lips on the natural lip line. If you want to make them bigger then you will outline the lips just a bit above the natural lip line. Don’t go too high as it will look fake and we don’t want that. If you want to make your lips smaller, then line the lips from the inner side of the natural lip line.

4.When you are done with the lip liner then you can fill up the lips with lipstick.

5.The colour of the lip liner is usually the same colour as your lipstick. Don’t apply lighter liner as it won’t give any definition to your lips, go with a shade or 2 darker.

6.Make sure that you are applying your lipstick with a lip brush. Why? Because in this case your lipstick will last much longer, the lip brush will give you more precision in the application.

7. Make sure you will blend the liner with the lipstick. No harsh outline on the lips is trendy anymore except you are doing a fantasy, high fashion or lip art.

8.Be precise and clean. The ultimate must is to make your lips perfectly shaped and contoured, especially when you are working with dark and bold colours.

9.Apply gloss on the lips. You can apply coloured gloss or transparent to give a high shine to your lips.

10.Now you need to make sure that your lips are perfectly shaped.

11.Take your foundation brush or latex sponge and straighten the lines

12.For additional definition you can take a bit of a concealer and line perfect the lip lines.

13.To avoid runny lips because of the lip gloss use a bit of a translucent powder on your latex sponge and place it to the corners of the lips.

14.To make sure that your lipstick will last all night long use Kryolan Lip Fix

All you need to do now is to practice, practice and practice!

My teacher told me you have to do at least 100 red lips to master it!

Moisturising the Lips

Hi everyone today we will talk about lips, here are the first thing to do is to moisturised your lips:

Exfoliate your lips. Mix together petroleum jelly (such as Vaseline), sugar and honey; Rub your lips with the mixture for 2-3 minutes later. Gently wipe the mixture from your lips with a clean, damp washcloth.

Next, apply a lip balm (such as Blistex or Carmex) to your lips. Don’t use flavored or scented lip balms because that will just make you lick your lips which will cause dryness.

Drink water. Water keeps lips moisturized. Your lips need moisture. Not only is water good for your lips but it is good for most everything in the human body. You should try drinking 8 glasses of water every day depending on your age.

Don’t pick your chapped lips. This will only make them sore, and even more dry. Making your lips dry and sore will slow down the moisture process. Also if you peel the skin off them it hurts and burns when you apply lip balm. Sometimes it even bleeds!

Don’t lick your lips. In fact, don’t even rub your lips together unless there is lip balm on them, don’t bite them, or rub your teeth against them. Not only does this dry out your lips, it even makes them bigger. Trust me that’s not very pretty!

Stay away from sticky foods. Sticky foods will make your lips rub against each other and stick together, damaging and drying out your lips.

Overnight, apply a heavy coat of lip balm to your lips. The next morning your lips will be moisturized and smooth!

There you go guys! The tips to have a smooth and moistured lips.

Perfect Smokey Eyes look

Your smokey eye makeup is a collection of different looks you create. Each element of makeup is characterised by its colour, finish, and performance. If your makeup is chosen correctly and your looks are skilfully combined, you are a woman with makeup sense.

The application

Firstly outline your eye contour with a black eye pencil, all the way around. Make the line thicker along the upper lashes.

With a brush or a sponge applicator, apply your base colour eyeshadow on the mobile eyelid and above the crease, about halfway to the eyebrows, blending slightly.

With a pointy sponge applicator, apply contour colour eyeshadow all the way around your eyes, blending it well with the pencil line.

Half-close your eyes and apply contour colour in the crease.

You will now need to define the outside corners of your eyes using a horizontal “V” shape. The position of the pointy end of the “V” will control the apparent shape of your eyes.

With a medium-sized soft round brush (you can also use a flat one, holding it sideways), blend the eyeshadows on the upper eyelid. With a flat brush, blend the eyeshadows on the lower eyelid.

Repeat your contour colour application with a sponge, as many times as needed to achieve a deep shade. Blend again with brushes after every application.

Apply highlight colour eyeshadow or facial powder under your eyebrows to ease the blending of the dark contour and add some volume to your eye makeup.

For an irresistible deep regard, outline the inside contour of your eyes with eye pencil. Use darker-than-usual eyebrows and lots of mascara to finish the look. Your eyes should now be smokier then ever before!

All in All To keep your bright eye makeup in balance, try a stronger blush, and keep your lips pale with a light gloss application.
