Dubai Modest Fashion Week

We are all really please to be asked to participate in the Dubai modest Fashion Week.

It’s an amazing event.

The first time in the UAE.
this ben in London, Istanbul and New York,

It was inflicted with influencers, bloggers and amazing designers.

The models looked just so beautiful and elegant in the Beautiful designs all ver elegant for Dubais Modest Fashion Week.

There were so many designers that came to Dubai just for this event from all over the world.

As usual, The Lipstick Make Up Institute Teams just love Fashion Shows. We thrive on the adrenalin and the rush of the exciting challenges that the days bring. We love the pressure and th dramatic changes from designer to designer.

This time though there were not too may changes as it the Title of the Show says, The Modern Fashion Show! so hence the makeup had also to be minimalistic and not so pronounced. Delicate and flawless makeup was the dominant feature of the shows. This was so not to take anything away from the designers and the clothes.

I never knew that there so many ways to wear a hijab and look so cool. The clothes were very , ” now” and so in with fashion, we were all so impressed.

We just can’t wait for the next Fashion Show. This is the season of events and the teams are all busy bees.

.We can sail and watch the sunset together on The Palm Jumeirah.

Cannot wait. Congratulations to Everyone!!!!

Lets celebrate all the lovely Mums!

The Lipstick Makeup Institute was a part of the Mothers Day makeup filming in Osh Kosh baby store.

We took our students to experience the working on a location and in front of camera feeling of the Mothers Day makeup filming .

Our students were responsible for a nice flawless and fresh makeup on these lovely ladies.

The task was easy. The mothers got few questions to answer while our students are pampering them and making sure they look lovely and perfectly made up. In this case the perfectly made up means not over the top, nothing glamorous but just a touch of makeup what will make the face fresh, the skin flawless.

The less is always more. This is the most important to memorise!

Always work with the face and the features. Don’t try to apply the same makeup style on every single face.

We are all unique, we all have a different personality also different needs when it comes to makeup. What will suit to me won’t suit you and to some other person.

Our students are trained in that way to recognise the needs of different faces and features. Makeup is used to enhance the beauty and correct the small imperfections not to make you look like a different person.

Todays makeup look was a Mothers Day makeup. Why is it different than the other makeup looks?

Its very light as a base. On the eyes we were using beige, browns with a touch of highlight. Mascara of course is a must. On the cheeks we added a touch of peach-orange colour to give a refreshing effect for the face as some of our ladies didn’t sleep much. On the lips a transparent lipgloss.

It was fun. We heard loads of stories about the funniest stories about their kids, the most important words they love to hear from their kids, and the everyday with 2 or 3 kids in the house.

Another Successful Make Up Student

We are always so proud that students travel across the globe to choose our make up institute over any other to to teach them the skills that they need to advance them into the world of Make Up.

I am always flattered when I ask them, How did you find us”? and they say that they google, “Make Up Schools in Dubai” and they looked at what all the schools had to offer and they like the look of our website, our testimonials, the work that we do and they see what the students are achieving and we are far ahead of any other make up institute. It means that we have done our job well.

Its not just a business but its our life and we just love it.

Once you leave the Institute we don’t forget you though. We really do care about our students. They become a part of our small family here.

This is such a great advantage for the students to have such images in their portfolio as believe e when i tell you that I have interviewed over 60 make Up Artists and no one! has any professional images. I advertised for a “teacher” and one applicant sent me face cards, I couldn’t understand this at all. Unreal.

I know how important it is to have a portfolio and a diary of your achievements. I have been a photographer for 28 years so I really do know the value of a portfolio and thats why when we were comprising the courses it was imperative that we incorporated professional photographs for the students portfolios.

The 20 minutes Cocktail Makeup look

You might ask “Cocktail Makeup”?

What is that?

It’s a perfect makeup look for your business dinners, weddings that starts in the morning time and any other occasion you want to look a bit more made up than the daytime loo but less than an evening look.

Lets see the steps:

Clean snd refresh your face before applying the foundation. You can use simple wet wipes to clean your face and toner to refresh it.
Apply your favourite foundation. The coverage for the cocktail makeup is from light to medium. Still not full. Keep it soft and don’t cake it up let it glow.
When it comes to contours and highlights if you are not a contouring freak keep it light. You don’t need layers and layers on your face for a cocktail makeup.
Set your foundation and the whole base with a thin layer of a loose powder. Don’t use compacts as your 3rd step. Leave the skin open and don’t powder it up with the compacts. They are the best for touch ups.
Fill up your eyebrows with a 3 shade lighter eye shadow than your brow colour.
Apply a base colour on your eyelid. The base colour is close to your skin colour.
Take your blending brush and swipe a medium brown colour in your crease line.
Take a black eyeshadow and dab a touch of it in your outer corners of the eyes.
Take a peach eyeshadow and with your blending brush softly blend in some colour above that medium brown to soften the transition between these colours.
Take your flat brush and apply a gold shine white eyeshadow under your eyebrows to highlight the eyes.
Take your angled brush wet it and with a black eyeshadow line your upper and bottom lash line.
Take your smudge brush and with a dark brown eyeshadow smudge this black line to smoothen it.
Apply 2 layers of mascara
Apply peachy blusher on your cheekbones and soften it with light orange highlighter.
Apply rosy-brown lipliner and fill up your lips with a same rose- brown lipstick add a touch of a clear gloss on the top of the lipstick and you are good to go!

The colour combination will change regarding your clothes of course.

In case you don’t know what you are wearing go with neutrals it will always work.

Smokey eyes and red lips??? 10 years ago we would say oh no, you can’t have Smokey eyes with Red lips on. There was a rule before in makeup that if you are working with dark colours on your eyes the lips will be light and if you have a bold lipstick on you will go light with eyes.

Ladies we can tell you its not the case anymore. One of the main style of the glamorous makeup is strong eyes and strong lips. If you know how to wear it and its clean and well blended just go for it.

Smokey Eye Course

Steps :

1- Cleansing – we are using the LAQUA tonic

2- For a healthy glowing, dewy skin will use the Kryolan Vitacolor foundation and blend it with a sponge.

Step 3- Our models undertones are warm to correct it will use a yellow corrector.

4- Contouring and highlighting with Kryolan Supracolors.

5- Set the foundation with white translucent powder.

6 Define and fill in the eyebrows with dark brown eye shadow.

7- Apply a base colour on the entire eyelid.

8- Contour the upper lash line with black eye shadow

9- For a perfect smokey look smudge the contours with dark brown eye shadow and define the crease lineStep 10 Apply a white gold highlighter under the eyebrows

11- Define the bottom lash line with black eye shadow and smudge it

12- For the absolute glamorous look apply micro pigments on the lid

13- Mascara on the bottom lash line

14 – Apply the blush and highlighter

15 – Lipstick application
