Dubai Modest Fashion Week

We are all really please to be asked to participate in the Dubai modest Fashion Week.

It’s an amazing event.

The first time in the UAE.
this ben in London, Istanbul and New York,

It was inflicted with influencers, bloggers and amazing designers.

The models looked just so beautiful and elegant in the Beautiful designs all ver elegant for Dubais Modest Fashion Week.

There were so many designers that came to Dubai just for this event from all over the world.

As usual, The Lipstick Make Up Institute Teams just love Fashion Shows. We thrive on the adrenalin and the rush of the exciting challenges that the days bring. We love the pressure and th dramatic changes from designer to designer.

This time though there were not too may changes as it the Title of the Show says, The Modern Fashion Show! so hence the makeup had also to be minimalistic and not so pronounced. Delicate and flawless makeup was the dominant feature of the shows. This was so not to take anything away from the designers and the clothes.

I never knew that there so many ways to wear a hijab and look so cool. The clothes were very , ” now” and so in with fashion, we were all so impressed.

We just can’t wait for the next Fashion Show. This is the season of events and the teams are all busy bees.

.We can sail and watch the sunset together on The Palm Jumeirah.

Cannot wait. Congratulations to Everyone!!!!

Laila Khan is originally Moroccan living in Dubai.

Her main aim was to study makeup as she is opening a Spa and Beauty Salon in India.

Smokey Eyes

Smokey Eyes Look Is a perfect makeup look for photo shoots, high fashion looks and for fashion shows. Basically its a simple full smokey look on the top with a transparent lip gloss. The steps of application are the same as the classical one. We need to make sure that the base (eye shadow) is strong ( 2 layers and blended).

Finish the whole makeup and exactly before the photo shooting or stage apply the lip gloss in one thick layer, carefully not to mess up the eye shadows and blending.

Smokey Eyes Application

Apply a transparent (clear) lip gloss on the top of eye shadows, especially on the centre of the lid (moving area of the eye) with a flat eye shadow brush. If you want to create a full wet look on the face you can apply the lip gloss on the high point of the face (top of cheekbones, bridge of the nose, chin, centre of the forehead). The look is ready for the shooting or for the stage. This look is not an everyday makeup.

Smokey Look

The smokey is for fashion shoes or photo shoots. The eye makeup will be spoiled by the lip gloss so make sure that you are in time and quick. The other two ways of creating a wet look is with Vaseline and the 8 hours cream.

I attended the three days Dubai zombie challenge that took place in wonderland, Dubai from 7^th till 9^th of April 2016

The event was organised and supervised by the famous French Le Manoir de Paris, they are specialised in makeup and special effects.

There were 2 amazing ladies Laura and Dalila they were responsible for the clients that wants to change into zombies, they took good care of them with smiles and love from the entrance till the makeup room, and they also were supervising the whole event.

The most common problem that all of us struggling from to find the right colour of the foundation we are wearing.

When you go to the makeup store forget about trying the foundation on your hands. The reason is:

is not the same colour like your face
the skin on our face is more sensitive
the skin on your face is a different skin type than your hands so of course you have to find the matching foundation to your skin type.

The process of trying and finding the right colour is very simple. Pick up 3 colours which are very similar to your skin colour and try them on your face near to the jawline area. The colour what blends in completely to your skin and not visible that is your foundation colour.

Tip of the day: When applying foundation, apply it little by little build up your foundation. In this case you will get a perfect coverage and will look natural not caked up and a mask effect on a face.

Tips Smokey Eye Look

Steps :

1- Cleansing – we are using the LAQUA tonic

2- For a healthy glowing, dewy skin will use the Kryolan Vitacolor foundation and blend it with a sponge.

3- Our models undertones are warm to correct it will use a yellow corrector.

4- Contouring and highlighting with Kryolan Supracolors.

5- Set the foundation with white translucent powder.

6 Define and fill in the eyebrows with dark brown eye shadow.

7- Apply a base colour on the entire eyelid.

8- Contour the upper lash line with black eye shadow

9- For a perfect smokey look smudge the contours with dark brown eye shadow and define the crease lineStep 10 Apply a white gold highlighter under the eyebrows

11- Define the bottom lash line with black eye shadow and smudge it

12- For the absolute glamorous look apply micro pigments on the lid

13- Mascara on the bottom lash line

14 – Apply the blush and highlighter

15 – Lipstick application
