Back Stage at Arab Fashion Week

The time had come again. Arab Fashion Week hit Dubai with full force. Once again we were so pleased to be involved.

lets take you backstage with The Lipstick MakeUp Institute team.

Being backstage at a fashion show is so much more than just being a MakeUp artist. You are part of a family to get the show on the road. The trick is to all stick together, work with confidence, keep alert and of course ALWAYS smile and never loose focus. Its important to be on the ball as fashion shows can be a crazy rush backstage.

When it comes to fashion shows, they key thing to remember is timing is everything. As beautiful and stunning fashion shows are from the front row, its not all glitz and glamour backstage. Backstage is where the months of hard work comes to life in a matter of hours. However, the rush is additive and the achievement you feel once the show has finished lasts for days.

This amazing experience gave our fantastic Lipstick Make Up Institute team to express their artistry in more ways than one. Each day kept us all on our toes, we all loved it and left us craving for more. We got to work with fashion designers from around the world which we can all defiantly say this is a “pinch-me” moment. You might be there to do MakeUp but do not be surprised if you get pulled by someone to help dress a model, tidy a models hair or even to maybe run and get some water and food for everyone.

Working in a fashion show keeps you up to date with the latest beauty trends and whats the hottest new looks. You could be the most experience MakeUp artist but you will always learn new tricks backstage that you can bring home, this will make you very popular with your girlfriends.

Arab Fashion Week was held between 5 days. We will take you through each day with all the looks changes and show you some fantastic pictures we managed to get in whist our team worked their magic.

Lets celebrate all the lovely Mums!

The Lipstick Makeup Institute was a part of the Mothers Day makeup filming in Osh Kosh baby store.

Your setup reflects you. Make sure that your makeup products and brushes are always clean and well organised.

We took our students to experience the working on a location and in front of camera feeling of the Mothers Day makeup filming .

Our students were responsible for a nice flawless and fresh makeup on these lovely ladies.

The task was easy. The mothers got few questions to answer while our students are pampering them and making sure they look lovely and perfectly made up. In this case the perfectly made up means not over the top, nothing glamorous but just a touch of makeup what will make the face fresh, the skin flawless.

The less is always more. This is the most important to memorise!

Always work with the face and the features. Don’t try to apply the same makeup style on every single face.

We are all unique, we all have a different personality also different needs when it comes to makeup. What will suit to me won’t suit you and to some other person.

Our students are trained in that way to recognise the needs of different faces and features. Makeup is used to enhance the beauty and correct the small imperfections not to make you look like a different person.

Todays makeup look was a Mothers Day makeup. Why is it different than the other makeup looks?

Its very light as a base. On the eyes we were using beige, browns with a touch of highlight. Mascara of course is a must. On the cheeks we added a touch of peach-orange colour to give a refreshing effect for the face as some of our ladies didn’t sleep much. On the lips a transparent lipgloss.

It was fun. We heard loads of stories about the funniest stories about their kids, the most important words they love to hear from their kids, and the everyday with 2 or 3 kids in the house.

All these lovely ladies deserve loads of attention, love and pampering… not only when its Mothers Day… but every day!!

Cool UV Makeup H2

Another interesting day using Cool UV Makeup and at The Lipstick makeup Institute. We gave our students an opportunity to use their skills that they have learnt. I have them to the task apply simple techniques.

We have a party to attend for Career soon and they want this kind of tribal make up. so the students can have experience at this kind of body spray work I set them thee task. I bought the stencils from the art shop and the paints from, “kryolan“. Some are UV and some not. The UV just looks so vibrant though.

We started with the green Cool UV makeup base and to get a clear smooth body spray cover is also an art. Slowly and evenly is always the best. Its better to do a few layers then one really full one as the paint will run. You also get different textures and tones if you apply in the correct way. If you want this of course. It does create more depth rather than one block colour.

After this is applied then we can start with the stencils. As I told the students its best to wet the Aqua colours and dab rather than brush. This way you will get and even effect without brush strokes.

The trick is all to work fast! efficient, confident will work best with this kind of UV Makeup. Also, not to make it look like stencils. To do the work on the arm you have to repeat the stencil 3 times so join the line up! Use free hand. Give some depth to it also by adding some gold or brown to create a 3D effect.

Yesterday was a great day Dubai tv was shooting at the lipstick makeup institute .

We introduced The Lipstick Make Up Institute and its services , how do our students register in our beauty and make up courses and what certificates do they get ? we have a great variety of diffresnt courses to choose between like for example

We explanied about kryolan materials that our students at The Lipstick Make Up Institute study and work with how many classes do they have to attend , and how we train them through practicing and teaching so they graduate with enough knowledge in all kind of makeup as evening , cocktail , daytime , classical and they can easily work in fashion and makeup fields .

We also explained our services for our YH STUDIOS DXB clients as photoshoots including makeup + hair .

We had our lovely model with gorgeous glam look done by THE LIPSTICK MAKEUP INSTITUTE makeup artist , i explained her look step by step and what is the 2017 fashion in makeup and hair it was really fun and exciting .

We just love what we do and do what we love. Just like our motto says so thats on our wall in the studio reception.

Photoshoot for Kids Fashion

Yesterday we had a wonderful day shooting kids fashion with some lovely kids at YH STUDIOS DXB and THE LIPSTICK MAKEUP INSTITUTE during ONE FRIDAY KIDS photoshoot .

One Friday , a high fashion and affordable kids wear retailer in India , thier collection features kids wear , shoes , accessories, sunglasses, headbands and trinkets , to suit all the wardrobe needs under one roof .

Kids started arriving with their parents to the studio early morning and i worked on their hair and makeup and Yasmin our managing director and head photographer started styling thier clothes , shoses and accesories which arrived organized in different sizes and colours for boys and girls .

The day was full of excitement , happiness and joy , we were running after the kids all over the place changing their outfits , playing in the sand. The kids were not bothered about the wind and even the rain at times!

We did half the shoot the week before on the Palm as one of the kids was leaving Dubai. It was a must that we had to photograph her though. She is so cool and very stylish that we had to include her in the shoot so we did.

Part 2 was on the beach on a very unpredictable day. It was cloudy, windy and very blustery. We had to do the shoot!! There was no time to waste. This time of year the weather is so unpredictable but we took our chances and it paid off.

It was so much much fun. More importantly we got amazing pictures and the kids had so much fun.

It always shows in the images and on the kids faces. Running freely on the sand and in the water is just so liberating for them and its not work its enjoyable.

Lamya Abedin’s amazing show at SS17 with The Lipstick Teams

QUEEN OF SPADES TOOK ME ON A VOYAGE DU CARNAVAL

Thursday 6th October 2016 the beautiful Lamya Abedin opened Arab fashion week with her Carnival Themed Fashion Show. Simply elegance.

She not only opened the show but bust onto the runway with a creative and amazing collection of high fashion !! The Bohemian dressed , very tall models, floated down the runway to very cool and contemporary carnival music. To compliment the show the smell of popcorn filled the room as there were popcorn stations and candy floss stations to worked so well for the collection and were all there for the customers and guests to take advantage of. it made us all get into the spirit of, “Carnival”. Fun and sophisticated comes to mind.

Her designs and use of materials pushed the boundaries of design. They were such mixture that blended together so well.

To close her show her beautiful little daughter also cam outer confidently and elegantly onto the runway holding one of the models hands so sweetly.

We were so pleased to have handled all the hair and make up for Arab Fashion Week and held in such a prestigious location. It has put The Lipstick Make Up Institute on an International Platform making The Institute one step higher to becoming The Best Make Up Institute in Dubai.

The experience was amazing. I could and will write a blog on all the designers as they were all so amazing, different and very cool and easy to work with. In fact, everyone was cool from the organisers to the models. It was just a spectacular 5 days and the adrenalin never stopped rushing! The whole of The Lipstick make Up Institute Teams loved it!!

الآن سوف نتحدث عن تجربة واحد من طلابنا هنا الذي تولى البلاتين دورة مكياج في لأحمر الشفاه المكياج المعهد الذي تخرج في ديسمبر الماضي 2016.

طار Javaria كل من باكستان إلى الانخراط في معهدنا. وقالت إنها بدأت مع صفر المعرفة في ماكياج. في البداية أنها لا تعرف كيفية التفريق بين الفرق بين الظل من الأساس، ما هو يناسب لون البشرة من شخص واحد. هذه هي الخطوة الأكثر أهمية عند تطبيق الماكياج. الكلمة نفسها، "الأساس" حقا يقول كل شيء. مثل عند بناء المنزل، وإذا كان لديك أساسا جيدا ثم يمكنك بناء على ذلك بنجاح. التشبيه آخر مثل العلاقة. تبدأ أساسا جيدا ثم وهذا يمكن أن يبنى على وجود علاقة مذهلة يمكن أن تنمو.

بدأنا تبين لها الأدوات، وأنواع مختلفة من فرش. ثم تليها خطوة بخطوة حول كيفية تطبيق ماكياج بدءا من التنظيف، التنغيم والترطيب.

تحليل الشكل، لون البشرة من شخص ليست سهلة للمبتدئين ولكن إذا كان لديك شغف واهتمام لمعرفة ذلك سيأتي من السهل تحديد تماما مثل ما فعل Javaria. تستمع ولاحظ جيدا لمعلمتها لتحقيق هذا النوع من الماكياج لنماذج لها. ببطء يوما بعد يوم عن طريق القيام ماكياج لنماذج لها أنها حققت أنواع مختلفة من نظرة من النهار ننظر إلى المساء، ونظرة براقة. وكذلك نظرة المبدع الذي يتمتعون به للقيام كثيرا.

Make up as a feel good factor – live demonstration

The Lipstick Makeup Institute was at Oracle today and was doing a live demonstration about the importance of makeup.

Before we went there to see all the lovely ladies we had to think of a few words to catch their attention. We had to let everyone know that we are The Best Make Up Institute in Dubai ha!

This is what we thought of:

So we should call it the “Feel Good Factor”

A woman’s mood can change in an instant if hey look good, they will fell good. If they feel good they will smile and radiate energy thats contagious and positive and can only be a great thing!

Make up is a very important contributory factor to helping this.

I will give young scenario.

If a lady feels a little tired and has no make up on and she catches herself in the mirror, she will shy away an feel even worse than she looks and hence will have a lower tone on the phone and not project any positive vibes to clients or even friends.

On the other side, if she has make up on and she catches herself in the mirror and she looks good! she will feel good and radiate that energy to potential clients giving positive vibes throughout the office and can only be good for self esteem and for business.

So the solution is, to make the most out of yourself every day to feel good and this is also goof for your health, marriage and self esteem!

All these questions were answered on our live demonstration.

We started with a light daytime look discussing about choosing the right colour of foundation, application techniques, contours and highlights and setting the foundation.

After this step we were giving a brief description about filling up and defining the eyebrows.

Eye makeup – easy steps for a daytime application using all neutral colours

Mascara application giving a final touch for the eyes

How to apply the blusher and where to place it exactly, which colours are for the daytime look.

Lipliner and lipstick application with a touch of a gloss was our finishing step on our lovely model.

Now we gave a situation to our Ladies of usual everyday situation of no having time for makeup touchup for an evening time.

We added a bit of drama on the eyes, cheeks and lips.

Just in few steps you can easily transform your makeup from a daytime to a glamorous evening look.

Try to concentrate on the eyebrows, eyes, cheeks and lips.

Add more colour and more darker colour on the eyes, make the blusher stronger and add a darker lipstick on the lips its that easy to achieve an evening look.

COURCELLES Kids Fashion Show

The Lipstick Makeup Institute Team is really excited to be working together and to be part of such event. Held at Dubai Ladies Club on Saturday 5th November.

The Beautiful kids wore all the designer labels. Boss Hugo Boss, Chloe , Little Marc Jacobs , Karl Lagerfeld Kids, DKNY and Billyblush

These are just some of the luxury fashion brands represented by the cuttest kids of different countries.

The little beauties loved it and were so excited.They were not afraid at a ll. I was so proud of them. One or two had a little moment but soon got over it.

There were lots of activities for them to keep them amused too. There were nail painting, games slides etc. There was also complimentary food such as burgers, hot dogs, chips. There was even deserts crepes, popcorn , candy floss and ice creams. Not only for the children but for all the parents too.

The Events company #mo4network did an amazing job of organising the whole event and bringing it all together.

It was our pleasure and enjoying every single minute of them doing their Rosey cheeks. blushes, powder and lip gloss The hair that all gorgeous thick and curly, it was amazing styling them while the kids talking and asking so much questions, as kids do. If I could do a fashion Show like this every week, I would love it. Such a pleasure to work not only with the kids but the parents too. Its so lovely to see everyone happy and pulling together. It also gives The Lipstick make Up team more experience in every genre. We want to do every event in Dubai that we can. We just love it. Make Up is not just about being am make up institute and teaching but getting involved in all these different diverse events, its fun!

Spooky Halloween here at YH Studios and The Lipstick Makeup Institute

Its that time of year again, halloween is nearly upon us!

I got the girls to get the stage make up out and get practising their spooky skills as we have many bookings over this crazy period that we love. Its different, fun and ever so creative.

We have many projects going on. My team are working at Billionaire Mansion which is in Touch Hotel this week too making the staff look spooky and creating a fun atmosphere in the Club.

There is no pattens really with Halloween make up unless you want something specific. You can just get a face and let your hands and mind start wondering! Thats the fun in it.

If you are going to a party or just want to dress up and have some fun with your friends then call us and we will be happy to make you look the scariest we can.
