Burj Al Arab – The Luxury Project

Burj al Arab

Burj al Arab is one of the most luxurious hotels in the UAE and we had the chance to work with the lovely Carlotta Conca (www.lustforthesublime.com) during her stay here in Dubai.

Carlotta is an Italian Luxury Travel blogger who has travelled in the most beautiful places around the world. She documents her stays in different hotels, resorts, travel spots for people who might want to come to those places. She also features the food, transportation, the night life and activities in the places that she goes to in style.

We were so pleased when we got an email from her indicating that she was going to be in town for a few days and she needed a photographer to document her stay at the Burj al Arab. So for us to be able to work with her is such a great honor.

Brushes, makeup, hair tools, and our cameras. Huge glass doors and gold embellished walls, furniture, and rooms greeted us upon arrival.

We brought the whole crew with us from YH Studios, one of our instructors from The Lipstick Makeup Institute, and our Platinum Makeup Course student.

We give them tasks, even just assisting, so they know what to do in situations like this in the future.

The student was able to complete the look with the help of the instructor for both makeup and hair. The student also assisted the model by retouching her makeup throughout the shoot.

We ended the shoot by celebrating a little with a few snacks and drinks at her hotel room.

Lipstick Makeup Institute Students First Fashion show

This took place @ V11 last week.

SORAYA B. COUTURE AND VAROIN MARWAH AW 2018 FASHION SHOW

Last Friday, June 22 2018, we were able to collaborate with a couple of wonderful designers, SORAYA B. COUTURE and VAROIN MARWAH at VII DUBAI in Conrad Hotel. In cooperation with Fashion TV, our students from the Lipstick Makeup Institute created the looks for the models before they marched their way into the runway. The beautiful models came out with a mixture of blinding gold highlights and fuschia pink cheeks Avant Garde looks.

With the guidance of one of our teachers and the coordinator, the students were challenged to finish their makeup look within 10-15 mins per model in their first ever fashion show.

It was a jam-packed show. The models adorning the designs by Soraya and Varoin gleamed on the cat-walk.

They owned it as they felt so confident in their attire. Shining bright with Soraya’s gowns and make up that gave them confidence to hold their heads up high.

The students are in their last week of training. 6 weeks of intensive training. They started with not much knowledge and now they are leaving with so much that they are bursting at the seams.

They are ready to tackle the outside world and start using all that have learnt along the way.

covered everything from the no makeup look to special effects. One end of the spectrum to the next!

I am so so proud of them that I could cry! It always makes me so happy. I love my students!!

Smokey Eyes

Smokey Eyes Look Is a perfect makeup look for photo shoots, high fashion looks and for fashion shows. Basically its a simple full smokey look on the top with a transparent lip gloss. The steps of application are the same as the classical one. We need to make sure that the base (eye shadow) is strong ( 2 layers and blended).

Finish the whole makeup and exactly before the photo shooting or stage apply the lip gloss in one thick layer, carefully not to mess up the eye shadows and blending.

Smokey Eyes Application

Apply a transparent (clear) lip gloss on the top of eye shadows, especially on the centre of the lid (moving area of the eye) with a flat eye shadow brush. If you want to create a full wet look on the face you can apply the lip gloss on the high point of the face (top of cheekbones, bridge of the nose, chin, centre of the forehead). The look is ready for the shooting or for the stage. This look is not an everyday makeup.

Smokey Look

The smokey is for fashion shoes or photo shoots. The eye makeup will be spoiled by the lip gloss so make sure that you are in time and quick. The other two ways of creating a wet look is with Vaseline and the 8 hours cream.

We all love that glamour its beautiful, bold and feminine.

Smokey eyes and red lips??? 10 years ago we would say oh no, you can’t have Smokey eyes with Red lips on. There was a rule before in makeup that if you are working with dark colours on your eyes the lips will be light and if you have a bold lipstick on you will go light with eyes.

Ladies we can tell you its not the case anymore. One of the main style of the glamorous makeup is strong eyes and strong lips. If you know how to wear it and its clean and well blended just go for it.

On this picture we are showing a perfect example of this look black and brown smokey eyes with red lips. She looks gorgeous, classy and glamorous.
