Day 4 of Arab Fashion Week

Another amazing, crazy busy day at Meydan Hotel. We are the major Sponsors of Arab Fashion week for the hair, make up and nails.

I am blown away by the camaraderie, support and respect everyone has for each other.

These events are something special that everyone just loves to be involved in, including me. Sometimes it make you crazy as the pressure and timings are sometimes unrealistic but its fun and exciting!

People respond better under pressure. What does not break us makes us stronger.

What a week so far, day 3 of Arab Fashion Week. The Lipstick Make Up Institute Teams are always hard at work. Behind the scenes making sure everything runs smoothly.

Working with International Models flown in from all over the world. Brazil, Italy, Switzerland, Russia and lots of places.

What a pleasure to work with such professionals.

Just amazing, all the Lipstick Teams loved it. We had major support from everyone. Feel so lucky and proud. after this event we can do anything in the world. Its on par with New York, Milan and London  Fashion Weeks.

First Day of Arab Fashion Week

What a great start to Arab Fashion Week, The lipstick Make up Teams are showing Dubai just how good they are. We have such great support. Brown Sugar Hair Salon, Wisam Nour Hair Salon are our amazing partners.

We are so grateful that we all come together and work like dream teams.

We are definitely rocking the back stage.

Being part of a great team is so much better than going solo.

Like the first show today, 40 children aaaaah ha , all for hair, pigtails, grungy and a bit of blusher and lip gloss.

 

So cute, kids on the catwalk is just so sweet.

Getting ready For Arab Fashion Week

We are so so proud to be doing all the hair and make up for Arab Fashion Week.

The debriefing with all the best make up artists in Dubai at The Lipstick make up Institute which is the best make up Institute in Dubai, in our opinion.

Tomorrow it all begins with the Kids fashion show and Lamya Abedin.

We will be updating the blog every day with millions of backstage pictures which is where all the action happens. We will put videos on. Instagram, Facebook and twitter.

We cannot contain our excitement. We have a team of about 45 Make Up Artists. 15 Hair specialist and 10 mail technicians.

Please reading our blog and that way you too can get involved in backstage madness!

We will be filmed every day from every tv channel, exciting times ahead.

It makes us so happy when someone is interested in what we are achieving.

 

When I think that we have only been open nearly a year!. Our 1st anniversary is October 13th. I am so proud of what we gave achieved. It just goes to show, together we can do anything.

 

Team work is everything.As I tell me teams, we are all as important as each other. We are all part of this wheel that keeps turning. Without each other then we are no as strong. The more the merrier. Thats what I have always said and as I am seeing, its absolutely  true.

We are so happy to have so many different teams joining us.

Another Chilled day at Nikki Beach Dubai

Every Sunday, The Lipstick make Up teams are at Nikki Beach Dubai, chilling with the customers and enjoying, “Amazing Sundays”.  This  happens across the globe at all Nikki Beach clubs from St. Tropez to Miami.

We paint the customers faces and arms, apply tattoos and party!

We have the headdress, make up, photography and its all free.

We teamed up with Nikki Beach to give the customers the best time on Sundays that they can have.

Come and join us and have a party! Who need the Mahikis of Dubai when we have The Lipstick make up Institute, the best Make Up  Institute in Dubai!

Its like a little escape from Dubai. To me, it truly make me feel like I am in the Mediterranean.

The whole set up is so cool and lots go amazing sides to it. Even the sea look so different than the sea at like say, Barasti which is near where I live why? I have no idea it just seems to be really blue!

Special Effects Make Up To Oldify From Our Institute

Well, it is always fun to learn at the Make up institute but especially when its a creative special effects day.

Our student chose our make up school as she did here research from South Africa and decided that we were the best make up school in Dubai to teach her all that she wants to know and she was absolutely right.

The daily task was to to make a relatively young person old and just take a look at the results.

Using the best makeup in our opinion, Kryolan , you can actually do anything. Once you learn the techniques then the make up will allow yo to explore the possibilities of your talent and give you the freedom to push yourself to the limits.

I am sure you agree that the results are great.  All our photos are shot by our sister photography studio,  YH Studios DXB. They have been here for 4 years and are the prefect partner for a make up school. In fact, I don’t know how the school would be without it. Everyone make up school should have one. The results of any make up lesson need to be recorded and thats what YH Studios does. Our students have this great advantage and we are the only make up school in Dubai to have such a partner company.

Parting With Nikki Beach And The Lipstick Team

Every Sunday we have teamed up with Nikki Beach Dubai and we celebrate, “Amazing Sundays”. Our sister company, YH Studios DXB, does all the photography when all the girls and boys are made up by The Lipstick Make up Institute Team, making our statement that we are fast becoming the best make up school in Dubai.

Everyone can come and join us, its fun in the sun. Its not like work for us. We brought two of our make up students who travelled just to Dubai to join Our Lipstick make up School. Rim from Jordan and Mirjam from Germany.

We feel very blessed that our reputation has reached people from all over and that they are enthusiastic about crossing the miles to meet and work with us.

Training time with the best Institute in Dubai

 

I would like to share my first ever training that I attended in Dubai. My motivation to attend the training organised by The Lipstick Make up Institute and the YH Studios Dubai by Yasmin Hussain last June 2016.

The training theme is of special relevance to my professional goals and career objectives, and therefore I really appreciate the opportunity given to me to attend this training together with my professional co makeup artist.

I enjoyed  every part of it, especially the creative makeup done by Livia Rideg the Eurasia World Champion Make up artist and the master of makeup.

And I’m very honour to work with the best.Her expertise in the makeup industry I find it a very motivational and inspiring to me.

I always keep in mind;

  • If you want to be a makeup artist only for fame, then this career is not for you
  • Makeup artistry is an art and you’ll need lots of practice to improve your skills; you’ll never finish learning.
  • Practicing on models with different face types, eye shapes, and skin tones will improve your skills

Tricks and tips on how to do Ombre Lips

 

Hi there! Today we will talk about how to create and define ombre lipstick!

Ombre means having two different colours that are monochromatic.

Ombre isn’t just for your hair! The sexy, ombré  lip look is one you’re going to want to wear always, and shout to the world about it. Be creative and bold with your makeup and try out this ombre lip look.

Ombre lips can look awesome, but if not done correctly they can make you look very tacky! The secret to doing ombre lips is to first try it out with your regular lip colors. Play around with different hues that merge well together and once you are satisfied with the results only then step out into the open.

Step by Step Ombre Lips:

Apply concealer over your lips to hide the natural colour.

Use the dark lip liner to create a line around the edge of your lips as you would normally. Add more of this dark colour lip liner to the corner of your lips bringing this dark colour in towards the middle, but do not colour all of your lips with this shade. You can also extend this line and thicken it at the top and bottom of your lip if you wish.

Apply your pale colour to the middle of your lips that do not have the darker lip liner on them. Press your lips together once or twice but do not smear the colours together by rubbing your lips side to side or back and forth. Simply press your lips together and pull apart again in one smooth motion.

At this stage you can use your lip brush or cotton bud to blend the edges of your colours together to create a fading effect.
