New Makeup Course is started

Today started new International Platinum Media Makeup Course. 

Students started their journey in to the world of Fashion and Beauty.

The duration of the course is for five weeks and first week is fully concentrated on the theory. Thats’s the most important part of the course. Firstly, students starting better to understand what exactly makeup is. Secondary, they are learning everything regarding makeup products, tools and how to do correct choices for each individual client (due to skin type, skin colour and final look). Thirdly, by the end of the week they know all face shapes and eye shapes, etc. Without knowing all this information you’ll  be not able to start practical part of the course.. 

Starting from the second week the adventure starts. During all four weeks that are left students working together with a real models and creating their final professional portfolios. Participating in photoshoots, learning basic hairstyling.

Backstage Professional Beauty 2020

Backstage Professional Beauty 2020

Being that, backstage Professional Beauty 2020Backstage – 18th of February 2020,.

In essence The Lipstick Makeup Institute team was in charge of makeup for Jamilla Paul’s session at Professional Beauty 2020.

However, , our team was in charge of the makeup of 2 beautiful models that embodied high fashion and glamour.  

 At any rate being that the talk was about our experiences as backstage stylists and makeup artists.  

In a word, making sure that all makeup and hair will be stage ready.

 By all means the transition of hair and makeup are very important. We only have a very limited amount of time to do the makeup and hair backstage in between shows.

Additionally, the models need to change clothes for the new designer, fix their makeup, and then go out in the runway. 

Our trainers

Firstly, On top of this, our head trainer and her students were working at the Provoc stand. demonstrating the products and makeup for the guests of Professional Beauty 2020.

Secondly, They were creating beauty looks on guests who were interested in the products for the two days of the event.

Thirdly, however, this is a huge exposure to our students who want to get into the field of makeup.

In general,  we are very fortunate to be a part of the Provoc team.

Lastly, Professional Beauty convention event happens once a year. Basically to showcase new innovations in the beauty industry.

The Lipstick Makeup Institute has been part of this event for a number of years already and it is really good exposure for our students to be a part of it. 

However, as a student and graduate of The Lipstick Makeup Institute, you’ll be having these experiences with different events.

In light of this is rarely done by other makeup schools in Dubai. On the other hand, we believe in our students capabilities, therefore we give them these chances.

Determined and Strong Women of Dubai

Determined and strong women of Dubai gather today at Meydan at the runway.

The Lipstick Makeup Institute Team is there to take care of these lovely models makeup as they wheel into the runway. 

This event is in cooperation with Fashion Week Dubai. Together with Smart Water, Makeup Forever ME, Uriage, H2 Rose and That Hair Tho, we celebrate beauty with determined women around Dubai.

Our team is in Meydan now preparing the models for the runway with our official sponsor – Makeup Forever ME. They have graciously provided the makeup products for this amazing event. 

As usual, our graduates take care of this event together with our amazing head makeup artist Kris. She is making sure all of the models are ready before the show.

Our graduates have been helpful throughout the years in events that we have a lot of paid and unpaid jobs. The TLMI students and graduates learn knowledge and experience in the makeup industry by participating in these events.

The Lipstick Makeup Institute is one of a kind and we is one of the makeup institutes that give jobs. BBC Documentary at the Lipstick Makeup Institute

BBC Ireland passed by our makeup institute a couple of days ago to do an interview with Yasmin Hussain the founder of YH Studios and The Lipstick Makeup Institute.

BBC Ireland passed by the other day to do a documentary with Yasmin for a TV show. The shoot was was scheduled for two days in YH Studios, The Lipstick Makeup Institute and the Arab Fashion Council Headquarters.

They were able to feature some of our students working on their models and had an interview with Jacob Abrian, the CEO and Founder of the Arab Fashion Council. 

The BBC crew were able to film our teachers, students and graduates while working on our models in the hour-long documentary.

They talked about how the students and graduates are very much involved during and after their courses finish. This is very evident with the fact that we bring them to different events and photoshoots. This is also great for them to have exposure for their careers as makeup artists. It is a blessing to have wonderful and talented students that are so hard working.  

They toured around the facilities and showcased our new location at City Walk 2. We wanted to make sure that people know that we’ve moved from Media City and is now in a better area at the heart of Dubai.

Fashion shows are a chance to see creativity and style.

They bring together designers, models, and fashion lovers. Moreover, they set the trends for upcoming seasons. The lights dim as the show begins.

However, the music starts, adding to the excitement.

First, a model steps onto the runway, getting everyone’s attention.

Each outfit tells a story, showing the designer’s vision. Additionally, accessories show  the overall look. As more models appear, the collection unfolds.

The audience watches closely, checking every detail. Meanwhile, photographers capture each moment.

These images quickly spread across social media. Furthermore, fashion critics share their thoughts online.

The finale is the highlight of the show. It’s often the most crazy look. The audience applauds, showing their appreciation.

About the designers

The designer then steps out, greeted with cheers.

Afterward, talks  about the show continue. Fashion shows have a lasting impact on trends. Buyers select pieces to feature in stores.

Consequently, these pieces become must-haves for the season. Fashion shows also highlight the latest styles.

For instance, new colors are coming out.. Moreover, designers experiment with fabrics and textures.

Each show is cool , showing different creative visions. Fashion shows are more than just clothing displays. They are a party of art and style. In addition, they often show  important messages.

Many designers now focus on new trends. This shift is seen  in their collections. Fashion shows can also be a platform for students to show off.

They address social issues through fashion. The industry continues to grow, and so do fashion shows.

Shows are becoming more common. However, nothing beats the live event. Fashion shows will always be at the heart of the fashion world.

Today marks another Milestone for The Lipstick Makeup Institute. As you all know by now, YH Studios and TLMI have just moved in to City Walk 2 at the Arab Fashion Council Headquarters.

And we are so excited with the changes that have happened so far.

Basically, our first batch of Platinum Students have started their course 2 weeks back. Now, they’re working backstage as part of the whole team. 

This is the first time that The Lipstick Makeup Team is doing the Arab Fashion Week as the Arab Fashion Council’s official partner.

Albeit we are pleased to be a part of this momentous event as AFW SS20 kicks off tonight.

Together with Makeup Forever Middle East, we create the looks for all the models backstage from the 9th to the 13th of October 2019. 

As a result, Makeup Forever was gracious enough to send us a huge amount of products to use for the Arab Fashion Week.

Bulgari Hotel with TLMI

9th of August, 2019, we had a client at Bulgari Hotels & Resorts Dubai. With our efforts to help our student practice their skills, we brought one of our students to the hotel. Our students have been taking the Platinum Makeup Course for 5 weeks

We brought her for a photoshoot with one of our VIP Clients who came all the way from Malaysia for their Wedding Anniversary at the Bulgari Hotels & Resorts. Together with the YH Studios Team and the Head Teacher of The Lipstick Makeup Institute.

For the past 5 weeks that she was with us, she has learned how to properly create a full look on different skin types, skin tones, and different eye shapes. We’ve given them tasks that would hone their skills for their upcoming career as a professional makeup artist.

The past 5 weeks, they’ve been put in situations like professional photoshoots for magazines and fashion shows. In makeup, skills are not only important thing but also character building and ethics and how you present yourself as a makeup artist on set.

In Bulgari Hotels and Resorts, we were able to present our student to the guests as professional as possible. They were very happy with the results of the shoot and enjoyed the whole experience because student did amazing work. 

As for our student, because  she has gained experience and confidence by working with real-life clients which is not available in other makeup institutes. Of course, it is with the guidance of our head teachers from The Lipstick Makeup Institute.

Shapes of the Different Eyes – Part 2

Welcome back to the part 2 of different eye shapes. As discussed last time, the first thing we do when we are faced with a client is check their eye shapes. It’s very important to do this from the start so we, as makeup artists, would be able to create the correct eye makeup style right away.
Types of eye shapes:

Wide Set Eyes

To determine wide set eyes, look at the distance between the eyes and the nose. To do that, measure one of the eyes and estimate whether or not another eye can be put in between the eyes. If there is still some space that has to be filled in-between, that means your client has wide set eyes. 

To correct this, the method of makeup should be slightly darker from the inner corner. You can also draw a longer eyeliner tip in the inner corner to create the illusion that the eyes appear closer to each other. 

Close Set Eyes

This eye shape is the opposite of the prior shape. 

To correct this, keep all eye makeup on the outer corners of the eyes. This will make an illusion that the eyes are a bit farther apart. Avoid using dark eyeshadow on the inner corners of the eyes as it would make your client seem a bit cross-eyed.

Downturned Eyes

This shape is quite peculiar. Downturned-eyes look a bit sleepy as the outer corners are lower than the inner corner of the eyes. 

 

Asian Eyes

The outer corner of this eye shape is normally higher than the inner corner. 

In order to correct this, add more eyeshadow on the lower outer corner of the eyes to level the eyes to the inner corner.

 

Hooded Eyes

The most misunderstood eye shape. In my opinion, this is one of the most versatile eye shape because you can create your own lines
The most basic way of doing make up on these eyes is doing a smokey eye that is slightly higher on the middle or outer 3rd depending on the shape you want to create.
