At this time  a  former member of the boy band One Direction, headed to Dubai for another concert for the Dubai Shopping Festival.

All in all, Liam Payne is well known for hit songs such as Strip That Down, Polaroid, Bedroom Floor and his latest single Stack It Up.

The Concert

Furthermore, the Lipstick Makeup Institute team was asked to do Liam’s makeup for the concert held in Dubai last 27th of December.

By and large, even more, coupled with this concert commemorated the opening of the Dubai Shopping Festival held yearly every December.

Shapes of the Different Eyes – Part 2

Welcome back to the part 2 of different eye shapes. As discussed last time, the first thing we do when we are faced with a client is check their eye shapes. It’s very important to do this from the start so we, as makeup artists, would be able to create the correct eye makeup style right away.
Types of eye shapes:

Wide Set Eyes

To determine wide set eyes, look at the distance between the eyes and the nose. To do that, measure one of the eyes and estimate whether or not another eye can be put in between the eyes. If there is still some space that has to be filled in-between, that means your client has wide set eyes. 

To correct this, the method of makeup should be slightly darker from the inner corner. You can also draw a longer eyeliner tip in the inner corner to create the illusion that the eyes appear closer to each other. 

Close Set Eyes

This eye shape is the opposite of the prior shape. 

To correct this, keep all eye makeup on the outer corners of the eyes. This will make an illusion that the eyes are a bit farther apart. Avoid using dark eyeshadow on the inner corners of the eyes as it would make your client seem a bit cross-eyed.

Downturned Eyes

This shape is quite peculiar. Downturned-eyes look a bit sleepy as the outer corners are lower than the inner corner of the eyes. 

 

Asian Eyes

The outer corner of this eye shape is normally higher than the inner corner. 

In order to correct this, add more eyeshadow on the lower outer corner of the eyes to level the eyes to the inner corner.

 

Hooded Eyes

The most misunderstood eye shape. In my opinion, this is one of the most versatile eye shape because you can create your own lines
The most basic way of doing make up on these eyes is doing a smokey eye that is slightly higher on the middle or outer 3rd depending on the shape you want to create.

Smokey Eyes Look Is a perfect makeup look for photo shoots, high fashion looks and for fashion shows. Basically its a simple full smokey look on the top with a transparent lip gloss. The steps of application are the same as the classical one. We need to make sure that the base (eye shadow) is strong ( 2 layers and blended).

Smokey Eyes

Finish the whole makeup and exactly before the photo shooting or stage apply the lip gloss in one thick layer, carefully not to mess up the eye shadows and blending.

Smokey Eyes Application

Apply a transparent (clear) lip gloss on the top of eye shadows, especially on the centre of the lid (moving area of the eye) with a flat eye shadow brush. If you want to create a full wet look on the face you can apply the lip gloss on the high point of the face (top of cheekbones, bridge of the nose, chin, centre of the forehead). The look is ready for the shooting or for the stage. This look is not an everyday makeup.

Smokey Look

The smokey is for fashion shoes or photo shoots. The eye makeup will be spoiled by the lip gloss so make sure that you are in time and quick. The other two ways of creating a wet look is with Vaseline and the 8 hours cream.

Steps :

 1- Cleansing – we are using the LAQUA tonic

2- For a healthy glowing, dewy skin will use the Kryolan Vitacolor foundation and blend it with a sponge.

Step 3- Our models undertones are warm to correct it will use a yellow corrector.

 4- Contouring and highlighting with Kryolan Supracolors.

 5- Set the foundation with white translucent powder.

 6 Define and fill in the eyebrows with dark brown eye shadow.

 7- Apply a base colour on the entire eyelid.

 8- Contour the upper lash line with black eye shadow

9- For a perfect smokey look smudge the contours with dark brown eye shadow and define the crease lineStep 10 Apply a white gold highlighter under the eyebrows

11- Define the bottom lash line with black eye shadow and smudge it

12- For the absolute glamorous look apply micro pigments on the lid

13-  Mascara on the bottom lash line

14 – Apply the blush and highlighter

15 – Lipstick application
