Bridal Makeup Course is a very popular makeup course in The Lipstick Makeup Institute.
European Bridal look and an Arabic Makeup look. We can assure you that you can learn how to do it.
One of our Bridal Makeup Course was done last month with a student coming all the way from Pakistan to study with us. She wanted to brush up on her skills as a makeup artist. At first, she thought that her makeup technique was already good and as it turned out, there were still some things wrong about them.
I pointed out to the student her mistakes and she got it in a day’s worth of practice. Now she’s able to blend properly her eyeshadows and her foundation specially contours and blush.
The next other 2 days, she was able to create her own looks for smokey and cut crease.
I’ve also pointed out to her a few things about makeup that it has to be impeccable, clean and fresh looking. So there are certain colours to be used in bridal makeup otherwise it will look too dark and gloomy. Foundation shade is also important as you have to make sure that it’s the correct shade whether it is for photography, videography or in person.
Makeup for brides is tricky because you have to make sure everything is perfect. Skin has to look like skin even with tons of makeup on.
Indian/Pakistani style bridal makeup is usually a bit heavier than European makeup. That’s because the brides are far away from the guests (on a stage).

The last couple of days were really fun and successful. A student enrolled for the self makeup application course for 2 days and we had an amazing time with her.
At first, she didn’t know much about makeup and brought her own makeup. From there, we assessed her things and checked if they were the right products for her to become successful. Thankfully, she had a few brushes that were fine, and powder, bronzers, blush and lipsticks that were right for her complexion. Apart from that, the only items that were incorrect were her foundation and eyeshadows.
At first, I taught her a few theoretical aspects of makeup before we headed onto creating makeup looks.
On the first day, we did practice work for Day Makeup. I taught her how to put her makeup on, which brushes to use, how to shape her eyebrows and lips.
On the second and last day of the Self Application Makeup Course, we did a review of the Day Makeup Look and Transitioned it to Evening Makeup and Party Makeup. She was able to do her own makeup with some guidance.
Learning how to put your own makeup is very important especially because appearance in the workplace is essential. When looking for a job, the first thing an employer looks at is someones photograph. In a job interview, a person’s appearance is something someone checks out.
When working in the service business, it’s important to have your makeup done impeccably so that your clients will feel at ease when you talk to them.
Here, at the Lipstick Makeup Institute, we’ll help you land your dream job by helping you in guiding you with your makeup — be it for your workplace, or for a date night. We’re here for you.
Last day is always the hardest yet fulfilling day of the courses. The students were tasked to do an Instagram Glamour inspired Makeup with a twist. As their last photoshoot, they did their best to create their final look as impeccable as possible.
Choosing an inspiration online for their last look was a daunting task but they were able to pull it off. Checking popular ‘makeup gurus’ online made them feel confident about doing their task.
How to mix and choose colours and create shapes are the first thing that our students learn in The International Platinum Media Makeup Course. In this final piece, they’re applying everything they’ve learned from choosing a foundation colour, checking the skin type, and choosing colours that would suit their model’s eye colour. They also had to apply contouring and highlighting according to their model’s facial shape.
Things that they’ve been struggling with in the first weeks they were able to achieve on their final week of photoshoots. As earlier during the week they did other shoots like the No Makeup Makeup Look and Makeup for Mature Ladies. They also did Evening looks, Glamour, and Arabic makeup. Special FX, Creative Makeup, High Fashion, and Creative Instagram Glamour Makeup were last. All of which they had to conceptualise by themselves prior to the shoots.

The students gave it their all during the final leg of their course making sure they were able to finish their looks on time. The students also stayed with the photographer to check how their models look so they can do any touch ups if needed.
Foundation is very important in makeup application.
There are literally thousands of different shades and formulas in the market today. In this blog post, I’ll give you a few easy tips and tricks when it comes to finding the perfect foundation for you.
Skin Type
Finding out your skin type is vital into finding the perfect formula of foundation for your skin. Different kinds of skin types but the most common are normal, dry, oily, and combination. How do you distinguish which one is yours? Take a few oil blotting paper and place them one side of your forehead, nose, cheek, jaw, and chin. Check which blotting paper has oil in it.
Normal Skin: All sheets have a minimal amount of oil
Dry Skin: all sheets are dry
Oily Skin: All sheets have more amount of oil
Combination Skin: Forehead, Cheeks, Nose, and Chin have oil
Skin Tone
We are either Cool, Neutral or Warm toned. Check the veins on your wrists. The natural colour of our veins are blue so if your veins appear blue then you’re in the cool-toned spectrum due to the lack of melanin in the skin (skin is translucent). If your vein appears green, then you’re in the warm-toned spectrum. If you see your veins are purple then you’re probably neutral.
Skin Colour
Now that you’ve established your skin tone, time to find the right shade for you. Finding the correct shade is usually very daunting. I always suggest going to a physical store when buying foundation instead of buying online. Most formulas oxidise so it’s best to try it on yourself before purchasing it. I suggest that when you go shopping, always start with a couple of foundations you’re eyeing on and carry on throughout your day shopping. Check it after a couple of hours and then come back to the shop to purchase or try another one.
Foundation Usage
Foundation Shade
In choosing your foundation shade, apply your foundation to your jawline and part of your neck. Decide on which part of your body do you want to follow (neck and chest or face) because most of us have either lighter or darker faces than other parts of our body.
Coverage/Finish
In choosing the thickness, texture and formula of your foundation, you have to choose it according to your skin type.
Normal Skin: Any Liquid or Cream-based
Dry Skin: BB Creams, Liquid and Cream-based with extra moisture
Oily Skin: Water-based Cake, Full Matte Coverage, Compact Powder Foundation.
Combination: Any formula as long as it’s properly primed and moisturised in the correct areas.
Congratulations! I hope you enjoy your new foundation.:)

Have you ever spent hours late at night watching makeup tutorials online and thought…
hmm love to be her/him one day.I bet you have as I have in the past. I have imagined working with famous celebrities and traveling around the world doing what I love, while getting paid for it.
So I took the chance, flew to Dubai and the rest was history.
I thought the life of a Makeup Artist was easy.
Believe me, I had to crawl my way into the industry, as years ago, makeup artists from my country
I had to train every single day crying while I drew eyeliners. I have lived in places not suitable for human beings and worked with impossible personalities.
But in spite of all that, I kept going. I honed my skills, trying to gain as much experience as I can, learned from different styles of makeup from different people, and always having that goal of stepping up in my career.
Fast-forward 15 years later, I still haven’t reached all my goals.
So far, I’ve crossed out a few things off my bucket list though – such as, worked for VIPs of Dubai, princesses, celebrities, work in media, my work published in magazines, attend classy events, meeting amazing people in the industry and so much more.
And maybe you don’t have to go through what I’ve gone through by taking our Platinum Makeup Course this Ramadan.
The Lipstick Makeup Institute is offering a 40% discount 25,000 AED to 15,000 AED for a limited time. If you take this course, I’m sure you’ll get ahead in the game really fast. Just call: 0528349964
We are really honoured to be interviewed by the wknd khaleej times magazine. We gave a tutorial on achieving the no makeup look , The way we teach at The Lipstick Makeup Institute which is the trend now in Dubai and around the whole world .
How to achieve this gorgeous look ? This is the question everyone into fashion and beauty is asking. Its not as easy as you think. Thelipstick makeup instituteexpert gave a step by step beauty tutorial to answer all about this new makeup trend .
Here is our tutorial steps and makeup tips to our beautiful ladies in dubai and the lipstick makeup institute lovers .
Here are the STEPS below in print.
1 – Firstly, cleansing , toning and moisturising which is the most important step .
2 – Its so important to find the perfect foundation for your skin tone. You can even blend another foundation lighter or darker to get an effortlessy natural glow. Our skin colour changes constantly. A bit of sun and we are a shade darker. We must compensate for this.
3 – Secondly, You can blend the foundation well with a wet sponge or a brush. You must blend it in well though so its almost invisible. This is the sign of good foundation.
4 – You should contour under the cheekbone , jawline , chin, temples and nose. This will lightly to give defention to your features .
5 – Thirdly, apply correctors to even out the dark circles , then highlight the centre of chin , under eyes and top of cheekbones with a cream highlighter .
6 – in order to set the base use loose or translucent powder and blend it with a brush . this will ensure a matte finish .
7 – Lastly, run a brush through your eyebrows and highlight with a shade that is at least three or four lighter than your eyeshadow . this is to give a gentle defention .
Eyeshadow Tips
8 – apply an eyeshadow over your eyes . start with a lighter base and move on to a darker shade .
9 – take an angular brush dab it on a darker shade that complements the eyeshadow and apply it on top of your eyes , smudge it later with the brush ( you could avoid eyeliner completly ) .
10 – However, for mascaras you can choose to apply a combination one for length the other for volume .
11 – All in all. Although this may be true, to give your lower eyeline just the right amount of definition apply a beige liner and for a night time look you could substitute with a white liner .
12 -Another key point, for blush go for soft colours like peaches or oranges and for a night look you could use a bronzer or dark pinks depending on the lipstick you are wearing .
13 – apply a lipliner for lipstick , go for glossy ,understated colours in this case its rosy , brown avoid mattes .
Its so easy once you know how and follow instructions.
Long gone now are the days when we paste the make up and have rosy cheeks and seriously contoured cheekbones. Less is more as they say.
