All too often makeup artists neglect hands even when they will be part of a shot. Men frequently have red knuckles. Older people have age spots. Cuts and scars are common.

Apply makeup to the hands in exactly the same basic way you apply it to the face. Use concealer to hide blemishes and a light touch of foundation what perfectly matches the skin colour.

Blend very well. If your subject is a man wearing a suit and shirt, apply makeup around the cuff. Of course, don’t get yellow makeup on a white shirt! Place tissues in the cuffs to avoid the risk.Body Makeup Lipstick Makeup Institute

If your subject is a woman, check the nail polish.Ensure that is properly applied.

In some photo shoots, your subject will be revealing more than face and hands. Legs, knees, arms and who knows what else may be photographed. You will encounter challenges.

For example, knees may be darker than the surrounding skin. Shaved areas such as those under the arms may be lighter. “Bikini lines” may show up where areas of skin that have been exposed to the sun meet those that have been covered by clothing.

Body makeup which is more heavily pigmented than face makeup

its typically water and sweat resistant, can work well in these circumstances.

Generally you will want to match the natural skin tone

Mascara Application Tips

Mascara Application Tips

Mascara Application Tips; Finding the best mascara and applying it in a right way is one of the most important steps in makeup.

Of course if you are lucky and got nice lashes then you can use any mascara your lashes will rock.

If you are in the “no lash” club like myself then its a real mission.

Your lashes are short and have no volume or long but the same no volume effect then you have to find the right mascara that will give you that plus what is missing.

What mascara to look for?

First of all check the brush of the mascara and of course what the mascara does exactly like volume, length, super black, curly …

mascara-brushes

And choose what you are looking for.

Most of the times you will choose a volumising mascara. It will give that final touch to your eye makeup and will make the eyes look more dramatic.

Also you can go for 3 in 1 or 5 in 1 in these mascaras you will find volume, length, super black etc.

How to apply the mascara and why is it important?

Being a m makeup artist i heard so many times from the clients

” Ohh i don’t like mascara or I’m not using it because …and then so many different reasons and excuses “

Well my ladies  your makeup without a mascara is like a woman without a perfume.

Your eye makeup can be ultra glamorous and perfectly blended but if you don’t have that Final touch what mascara gives you then your eyes will look “naked”.

Now this is the time to learn how to apply your mascara in a right way.

1. Make sure that your lashes are clean i mean no mascara left over from last night partying and glue form your fake lashes.

2. Curl your lashes before mascara application, always before mascara not after you might break your lashes so be careful with it.

lash curling

3. In the case that you don’t like this tool there is another option for you.

4. When applying the mascara start from the roots of the lashes and go with a slow zig-zag moves till the end of the lashes. In this way you will give them a nice curled shape even without a curler.

mascara application

5. Apply maximum 2 layers of mascara and make sure your lashes are not sticked to each other and you don’t have clumps on your lashes because of the mascara.

So please get in the stores test the mascaras and get your favourite one to rock the world with your sensual looks.

  • Powder: Use a loose pale yellow-based powder or translucent dusting powder to set the makeup
  • Eyebrows: Shape the brows with a small amount of brow powder or pencil. If you have a dark hair, use a colour that is one or two tones lighter than the hair colour
  • Eye shadow: Choose three shades of eye shadow: light, medium and dark. Use the dark to line upper lid, thinly, along the lash edge. Use medium shade to cover the remaining part of the eye lid up to the crease
  • Eyeliner: Use cake liner and apply with an angled or fine liner brush, or use a sharpened eyeliner pencil.
  • Mascara: Black mascara is the best to highlight your lashes. Apply in two thin coats rather than one heavy one
  • Blush: Apply the blush directly on the cheekbones and blend it to the hairline.
  • Lip liner: Apply lip liner in advance of lip colour as the lip liner helps contain the lipstick, keeps it from feathering, and makes it more durable.
  • Lipstick: Use a lip brush to apply dark or bright colours since these require very precise application. Add a dot of a gloss to the centre of the bottom lip and then blot

Backstage Professional Beauty 2020

Backstage Professional Beauty 2020

Backstage – 18th of February 2020, The Lipstick Makeup Institute team was in charge of makeup for Jamilla Paul’s session at Professional Beauty 2020.

Our team was in charge of the makeup of 2 beautiful models that embodied high fashion and glamour. The talk was about our experiences as backstage stylists and makeup artists. Making sure that all makeup and hair will be stage ready.

The transition of hair and makeup are very important. We only have a very limited amount of time to do the makeup and hair backstage in between shows. Additionally, the models need to change clothes for the new designer, fix their makeup, and then go out in the runway.

On top of this, our head trainer and her students were working at the Provoc stand. demonstrating the products and makeup for the guests of Professional Beauty 2020. They were creating beauty looks on guests who were interested in the products for the two days of the event. This is a huge exposure to our students who want to get into the field of makeup. And we are very fortunate to be a part of the Provoc team.

Professional Beauty convention event happens once a year. Basically to showcase new innovations in the beauty industry for professionals and consumers alike. The Lipstick Makeup Institute has been part of this event for a number of years already and it is really good exposure for our students to be a part of it.

As a student and graduate of The Lipstick Makeup Institute, you’ll be having these experiences with different events. This is rarely done by other makeup schools in Dubai. On the other hand, we believe in our students capabilities, therefore we give them these chances.

They talked about how the students and graduates are very much involved during and after their courses finish. This is very evident with the fact that we bring them to different events and photoshoots. This is also great for them to have exposure for their careers as makeup artists. It is a blessing to have wonderful and talented students that are so hard working.

They toured around the facilities and showcased our new location at City Walk 2. We wanted to make sure that people know that we’ve moved from Media City and is now in a better area at the heart of Dubai.

The BBC crew also showcased Ms. Yasmin Hussain on the job while she photographed Max Fardan.
