First Day of Arab Fashion Week

What a great start to Arab Fashion Week, The lipstick Make up Teams are showing Dubai just how good they are. We have such great support. Brown Sugar Hair Salon, Wisam Nour Hair Salon are our amazing partners.

We are so grateful that we all come together and work like dream teams.

We are definitely rocking the back stage.

Being part of a great team is so much better than going solo.

Its healthy, supportive and even parts relaxing as you know that we are all there to support each other.

Like the first show today, 40 children aaaaah ha , all for hair, pigtails, grungy and a bit of blusher and lip gloss.

So cute, kids on the catwalk is just so sweet.

Also is a wonderful pictures of amazing lamya Abedin. Just a bespoke wonderful designer and a woman too. A great representative of the females of this world taking it by storm .

Getting ready For Arab Fashion Week

We are so so proud to be doing all the hair and make up for Arab Fashion Week.

The debriefing with all the best make up artists in Dubai at The Lipstick make up Institute which is the best make up Institute in Dubai, in our opinion.

Tomorrow it all begins with the Kids fashion show and Lamya Abedin.

We will be updating the blog every day with millions of backstage pictures which is where all the action happens. We will put videos on. Instagram, Facebook and twitter.

We cannot contain our excitement. We have a team of about 45 Make Up Artists. 15 Hair specialist and 10 mail technicians.

Please reading our blog and that way you too can get involved in backstage madness!

We will be filmed every day from every tv channel, exciting times ahead.

It makes us so happy when someone is interested in what we are achieving.

When I think that we have only been open nearly a year!. Our 1st anniversary is October 13th. I am so proud of what we gave achieved. It just goes to show, together we can do anything.

Team work is everything.As I tell me teams, we are all as important as each other. We are all part of this wheel that keeps turning. Without each other then we are no as strong. The more the merrier. Thats what I have always said and as I am seeing, its absolutely true.

We are so happy to have so many different teams joining us.

Another Chilled day at Nikki Beach Dubai

Every Sunday, The Lipstick make Up teams are at Nikki Beach Dubai, chilling with the customers and enjoying, “Amazing Sundays”. This happens across the globe at all Nikki Beach clubs from St. Tropez to Miami.

We paint the customers faces and arms, apply tattoos and party!

We have the headdress, make up, photography and its all free.

We teamed up with Nikki Beach to give the customers the best time on Sundays that they can have.

Its like a little escape from Dubai. To me, it truly make me feel like I am in the Mediterranean.

The whole set up is so cool and lots go amazing sides to it. Even the sea look so different than the sea at like say, Barasti which is near where I live why? I have no idea it just seems to be really blue!

Another Successful Make Up Student

We are always so proud that students travel across the globe to choose our make up institute over any other to to teach them the skills that they need to advance them into the world of Make Up.

I am always flattered when I ask them, How did you find us”? and they say that they google, “Make Up Schools in Dubai” and they looked at what all the schools had to offer and they like the look of our website, our testimonials, the work that we do and they see what the students are achieving and we are far ahead of any other make up institute. It means that we have done our job well.

The reason that we achieved this is because we opened the make up Institute because we are passionate about it and this is the most apparent attribute and this is clear for anyone to see.

Its not just a business but its our life and we just love it.

I am not just saying it but our students feel at home here and get really sad when their courses are over as we do. Once you leave the Institute we don’t forget you though. We keep in touch with our students and try to involve them in our Fashion Shows and any event we can. We really do care about our students. They become a part of our small family here.

The other great attribute that puts Our Make up institute better than any other in Dubai is that we have a sister company, YH Studios DXB and all our students get professional images for their portfolio, how many depends on what course they have chosen

This is such a great advantage for the students to have such images in their portfolio as believe e when i tell you that I have interviewed over 60 make Up Artists and no one! has any professional images. I advertised for a “teacher” and one applicant sent me face cards, I couldn’t understand this at all. I asked her that all the years she claims to be a make up artist and have taught for so may years yet she send me , Face Charts. Unreal.

I know how important it is to have a portfolio and a diary of your achievements. I have been a photographer for 28 years so I really do know the value of a portfolio and thats why when we were comprising the courses it was imperative that we incorporated professional photographs for the students portfolios.

Here are the results of one of our students who has just finished a 3 Day Bronze Course.

Parting With Nikki Beach And The Lipstick Team

Every Sunday we have teamed up with Nikki Beach Dubai and we celebrate, “Amazing Sundays”. Our sister company, YH Studios DXB, does all the photography when all the girls and boys are made up by The Lipstick Make up Institute Team, making our statement that we are fast becoming the best make up school in Dubai.

Everyone can come and join us, its fun in the sun. Its not like work for us. We brought two of our make up students who travelled just to Dubai to join Our Lipstick make up School. Rim from Jordan and Mirjam from Germany.

We feel very blessed that our reputation has reached people from all over and that they are enthusiastic about crossing the miles to meet and work with us.

Eyeliner for cocktail makeup

A strong mouth brings out the flush in your cheeks, so go light on blush, but do take a couple of minutes to define your eyes. Run a rich black or brown liner pencil which has a touch of iridescence as close as possible to your upper and lower lash lines, Then finish with two coats of black mascara.

ADDITIONAL:

If you have fair skin, try blue-based berry colors with a bit of translucence

If you have olive/medium skin, try creamy, succulent, red-tinged plums.

If you have dark skin try deep, saturated raisin hues.

Softly shimmering highlighter.

Eyeliner for daytime yes or no?

Wearing black eyeliner in the daytime “Here is a general rule: dark colours shrink and recede,” “Light colours advance and bring forward.” That’s why she recommends skipping black eyeliner (especially underneath eyes) during the day, so your eyes look more open and awake. ;

“Yikes, I do this almost every day,” “I do like how the liner defines my eyes. I think I look tired without some liner on. But I will admit that black can be a bit harsh for daytime, so maybe a switch to brown liner is in order. Same effect without the goth undertones.”

Training time with the best Institute in Dubai

I would like to share my first ever training that I attended in Dubai. My motivation to attend the training organised by The Lipstick Make up Institute and the YH Studios Dubai by Yasmin Hussain last June 2016.

The training theme is of special relevance to my professional goals and career objectives, and therefore I really appreciate the opportunity given to me to attend this training together with my professional co makeup artist.

I enjoyed every part of it, especially the creative makeup done by Livia Rideg the Eurasia World Champion Make up artist and the master of makeup.

And I’m very honour to work with the best.Her expertise in the makeup industry I find it a very motivational and inspiring to me.

I always keep in mind;

If you want to be a makeup artist only for fame, then this career is not for you
Makeup artistry is an art and you’ll need lots of practice to improve your skills; you’ll never finish learning.
Practicing on models with different face types, eye shapes, and skin tones will improve your skills
