Wknd Khaleej Times Mag Nude makeup

We are really honoured to be interviewed by the wknd khaleej times magazine. We gave a tutorial on achieving the no makeup look , The way we teach at The Lipstick Makeup Institute  which  is the trend now in Dubai and around the whole world .

How to achieve this gorgeous look ? This is the question everyone into fashion and beauty is asking. Its not as easy as you think.  The lipstick makeup institute expert gave a step by step beauty  tutorial to answer all about this new makeup trend .

Here is our tutorial  steps and makeup tips  to our beautiful ladies in dubai and the lipstick makeup institute lovers .

Here are the STEPS below in print.

1 – cleansing , toning and moisturising which is the most important step .

2 – Its so important to find the perfect foundation for your skin tone. You can even   blend another foundation lighter or darker to get an effortlessy natural glow. Our skin colour changes constantly. A bit of sun and we are a shade darker. We must compensate for this.

3 – You can blend the foundation well with a wet sponge or a brush. You must blend it in well though so its almost invisible. This is the sign of good foundation.

4 – You should contour under the cheekbone , jawline , chin, temples and nose. This will  lightly to give defention to your features .

5 – apply correctors to even out the dark circles , then highlight the centre of chin , under eyes and top of cheekbones with a cream highlighter .

6 – in order to set the base use loose or translucent powder and blend it with a brush . this will ensure a matte finish .

7 – run a brush through your eyebrows and highlight with a shade that is at least three or four lighter than your eyeshadow . this is to give a gentle defention .

8 – apply an eyeshadow over your eyes . start with a lighter base and move on to a darker shade .

9 – take an angular brush dab it on a darker shade that complements the eyeshadow and apply it on top of your eyes , smudge it later with the brush ( you could avoid eyeliner completly ) .

10 – for mascaras you can choose to apply a combination one for length the other for volume .

11 – to give your lower eyeline  just the right amount of definition apply a beige liner and for a night time look you could substitute with a white liner .

12 – for blush go for soft colours like peaches or oranges and for a night look you could use a bronzer or dark pinks depending on the lipstick you are wearing .

13 – apply a lipliner for lipstick , go for glossy ,understated colours in this case its rosy , brown avoid mattes .

Its so easy once you know how and follow instructions.

Long gone now are the days when we paste the make up and have rosy cheeks and seriously contoured cheekbones. Less is more as they say.

Please have a look at the pictures below and see our gorgeous model, Clementine Harriett transformed. She is beautiful anyway but glows with our expert makeup and Kryolan make up.

Another Successful Make Up Student

We are always so proud that students travel across the globe to choose our make up institute over any other to to teach them the skills that they need to advance them into the world of Make Up.

I am always flattered when I ask them, How did you find us”? and they say that they google, “Make Up Schools in Dubai” and they looked at what all the schools had to offer and they like the look of our website, our testimonials, the work that we do and they see what the students are achieving and we are far ahead of any other make up institute. It means that we have done our job well.

The reason that we achieved this is because we opened the make up Institute because we are passionate about it and this is the most apparent attribute and this is clear for anyone to see.

Its not just a business but its our life and we just love it.

I am not just saying it but our students feel at home here and get really sad when their courses are over as we do. Once you leave the Institute we don’t forget you though. We keep in touch with our students and try to involve them in our Fashion Shows and any event we can. We really do care about our students. They become a part of  our small family here.

The other great attribute that puts Our Make up institute better than any other in Dubai is that we have a sister company, YH Studios DXB and all our students get professional images for their portfolio, how many depends on what course they have chosen

This is such a great advantage for the students to have such images in their portfolio as believe e when i tell you that I have interviewed over 60 make Up Artists and no one! has any professional images. I advertised for a “teacher” and one applicant sent me face cards, I couldn’t understand this at all. I asked her that all the years she claims to be a make up artist and have taught for so may years yet she send me , Face Charts. Unreal.

I know how important it is to have a portfolio and a  diary of your achievements. I have been a photographer for 28 years so I really do know the value of a portfolio and thats why when we were  comprising the courses it was imperative that we incorporated professional photographs for the students portfolios.

Here are the results of one of our students who has just finished a 3 Day Bronze Course.

Amazing pictures with great talent.

Creative UV Makeup Training Day for All The Lipstick Teams

“We love what we do and do what we love”

Thats Our Motto and we stick to it!

And the most we love is to create yet unseen looks and concepts in makeup and showcase it to all of you.

Yesterday was a Creative makeup training day in our Institute for The Lipstick Team.

We love our team and they deserve the best training.

We were presenting 2 completely different looks:

  1. Avant-garde makeup

2. Fantasy makeup – body painting with UV Glow colours

About the Avant-garde style

The term avant-garde refers to innovative or experimental concepts or works, or the group of people producing them. Pushing boundaries with the  development of Cubism, Pablo Picasso was part of the early 20th-century art world’s avant-garde. He in fact Personifies this style!

So we were pushing our boundaries and combined loads of different makeup application techniques in our Creative Make Up day.

Of course as always we were using Kryolan products so much glitters, gellafix, crushed mirror, sequences, crystals, Supracolors in colours, Aquacolors and glitter powders and pure colour pigments.

Our concept was to create something different and special.

Inspired by high fashion and fantasy looks, to create an aqua, watery impression followed by glow and shine.

Our models final look is really impressive, different and extraordinary but still she looks beautiful and feminine.

Fantasy look with UV glow colours

Our another look was inspired by the fantastic Galaxy.

This is how we created the, “Galactical Princess” Look, Sparkly and bright.

Handmade skirt, painted top and collar were the main contents of this look.

It was a real fun look to work on Our Lipstick Teams were fascinated as they had never been involved in anything like this before. A complete transformation before their eyes.

I was applying the UV colours in the dark under the UV light with the whole team watching it.

Of course it was a bit challenging but that was the most interesting part in it.

For the whole look we were using Kryolan products.

Kryolan UV glow aqua colors, UV glow eyeshadows and Hair spray and a free hand to draw some funky lines and splash the colours all over the models body.

We really enjoyed creating the look and looking forward to the next project.

Congratulations to Our Student who just completed The Silver Make Up Course.

We are so proud of our Leila who progressed so much in her 5 days with us. She achieved An International Certificate and 3 amazing images for her Portfolio which is all included as part of the Makeup  Course. We have our sister company , YH Studios DXB who are always very involved with the students explaining just how the lights react with make up. Media Make Up is  completely diffrent makeup just for events, parting or just going out.

This is the great advantage that having a professional photography studio as part of the package. The students on the courses gain such a great advantage as they understand and can apply all the tips and techniques to their working life once they leave the comfort of our Institute.

We are like a family here with knowledge and experience to share!

Just look at the images that Leila left The Lipstick Makeup Institute with. I am very proud of her achievements.

There are so many makeup Artists who do not have any professional images. Com e and join us and get the best of everything!

What is full contouring and when are we using it

For the full contouring and highlighting we can use liquid foundations or cream products.

The queen of all contouring  and highlighting is Kim Kardashian and she is sharing her tips and trick with us:

  1. Don’t be afraid to contour more of your nose than you think is necessary. Not only is Kim’s nose shaded from the browbone all the way down, but most of the skin on her nostrils is shaded as well. This will create a serious slimming effect.
  2. Always highlight down the center of your nose. A perfect contour is nothing without a highlight! You should create a stripe of light color down your nose, starting from between your brows down to the tip. Keep the line steady and symmetrical, but feel free to play with the width (depending on how narrow you want your nose to appear).
  3. Add subtle shade to the tip of your nose. You have to look very closely to see this, but the end of Kim’s nose has a bit of contour on it. This will prevent your nose from looking too long. However, you should skip this step if you have a short button nose.
  4. Use matching contouring colors in the hollows of your cheekbones and around your forehead. Everything should look natural and seamless — using the same products and shades will prevent any weird mismatching issues while balancing your overall look.
  5. Finish your contouring look with a bit of shading along your eye sockets. This will complete the illusion of goddess-level bone structure.
  6. Don’t forget to blend! While you do want to maintain the integrity of the lines you’ve created as you buff them out, they should not look like actual lines drawn on your face.

Tip of the Day: Use your beauty blender or sponge to blend the contours and highlights

Powder, cream or liquid

Whoever said choice was a good thing probably wasn’t a woman trying to find the right foundation. Years ago we just grabbed a bottle of beige cream and called it good, but now we have so many options to choose from, including liquids, powders, sticks, pressed powders, and of course the new mineral powders. How are we ever to pick the right one?

We’ve collected a bit of information here to help narrow it down for you. As a basic rule: oily skin types should go for more powder and matte formulas, whereas normal to dry can use more oil-based options. If your skin is  dry and dehydrated liquids works the best. Here are the foundations, and when it’s best to use each one.

Liquid: The most popular option, liquids have been around for a long time and continue to be favorites because they’re so flexible and natural-looking. Oil-based formulas are best for dry to normal skin, and water-based formulas are better for those with oily skin. Liquids also work well in color combinations, if you’re into making your own shades by mixing two or more colors. Be careful of the long-wearing, smudgeproof versions. Though they may stay on longer, they typically have waxy and oily ingredients that can cause skin irritation or breakouts. (In humid conditions, though, they can be lifesavers.) Oil-free options or matte finish brands are best for those with oily or acne-prone skin. Ultra-mattes can also be good for oily types, but tend to leave the skin dry and taut.

Cream: Cream foundation is a good choice for those with dry or mature skin. It provides medium to heavy coverage, and helps skin look soft and smooth.

Sticks: These foundations come in solid form and have more of a drying effect, which may make them best for those with oily skin. They are also good for covering scars and flaws, and for creating more coverage. These are often used in photography sessions, but for everyday use, you may find them too heavy and thick-feeling.

Powder: Similar to pressed powder, loose-powder foundations help control shine. However, they can be too drying. All but the most oily skin types may want to use these for touch-ups only. They also work well when you’re in a hurry, and can be great options for young girls just starting out on makeup as they’re light and easy to apply.

Tip of the day: use  translucent powder to set your foundation to get a beautiful and matte finish.
