Fashion Platinum Course, Its that time again when is going to begin.
Fashion Platinum Course The next course starts on the 11th November and there is nothing more to say that you must join.
Its the most creative, innovative, interesting and amazing Course we have developed.
For the 6 weeks you will learn all you need to know about makeup to become a professional makeup artist. We provide you with a Book like the one below which is the cover. Its mega thick and is packed full of information about every aspect of makeup.
Here at The Lipstick Makeup Institute we also have a photographystudio. Not just any photography studio though. We are Special!
We have a GLOBAL Award Winning Studio, YH Studios DXB.
This advantage means that every student gets their work photographed on a daily basis. The students spend tome with the photographers in the studio and get a great understanding of how to behave like a makeup artist too. They also can see the difference between makeup for catwalk, media and beauty.
Its so cool to see how much the students increase on a daily basis with their skills. They see the change in themselves too which is such a confident boost. Once they start to learn the fundamental principles of makeup they start to really learn fast.
We teach them everything, nude makeup, fashion makeup, bridal makeup, special effects makeup, high fashion makeup. The no makeup look, Glamorous makeup, absolutely everything about makeup. We work with designers too who supply clothes and jewellers for accessories.
We have so many lovely people who volunteer to come and models for the students so they can practise and as a thank you they get a free photograph.
Thank you so much to all you wonderful people.
Foundation is very important in makeup application.
There are literally thousands of different shades and formulas in the market today. In this blog post, I’ll give you a few easy tips and tricks when it comes to finding the perfect foundation for you.
Finding out your skin type is vital into finding the perfect formula of foundation for your skin. Different kinds of skin types but the most common are normal, dry, oily, and combination. How do you distinguish which one is yours? Take a few oil blotting paper and place them one side of your forehead, nose, cheek, jaw, and chin. Check which blotting paper has oil in it.
Normal Skin: All sheets have a minimal amount of oil
Dry Skin: all sheets are dry
Oily Skin: All sheets have more amount of oil
Combination Skin: Forehead, Cheeks, Nose, and Chin have oil
We are either Cool, Neutral or Warm toned. Check the veins on your wrists. The natural colour of our veins are blue so if your veins appear blue then you’re in the cool-toned spectrum due to the lack of melanin in the skin (skin is translucent). If your vein appears green, then you’re in the warm-toned spectrum. If you see your veins are purple then you’re probably neutral.
Now that you’ve established your skin tone, time to find the right shade for you. Finding the correct shade is usually very daunting. I always suggest going to a physical store when buying foundation instead of buying online. Most formulas oxidise so it’s best to try it on yourself before purchasing it. I suggest that when you go shopping, always start with a couple of foundations you’re eyeing on and carry on throughout your day shopping. Check it after a couple of hours and then come back to the shop to purchase or try another one.
In choosing your foundation shade, apply your foundation to your jawline and part of your neck. Decide on which part of your body do you want to follow (neck and chest or face) because most of us have either lighter or darker faces than other parts of our body.
In choosing the thickness, texture and formula of your foundation, you have to choose it according to your skin type.
Normal Skin: Any Liquid or Cream-based
Dry Skin: BB Creams, Liquid and Cream-based with extra moisture
Oily Skin: Water-based Cake, Full Matte Coverage, Compact Powder Foundation.
Combination: Any formula as long as it's properly primed and moisturised in the correct areas.
Congratulations! I hope you enjoy your new foundation.:)

Nothing pleases me more than getting extremely creative students.
During our last leg of the course, our students get their hands "dirty" during the Creative Makeup Week. They work with glitter, metallic paints, latex, fake blood, wax, and everything that as to do with Special Effects makeup. In a way, it's like Halloween all year round in the institute. hahahaha!
Our International Platinum Course is a Fashion Makeup Course as we work closely with Our Sister company YH Studios DXB who is a Global Award Winning studio. All our students are privileged enough to work with the photographers every day. all their models are shot in the studio after makeup. This teaches the students how to become a "REAL" Makeup artist. By this I mean they learn the etiquette of being a makeup artist.
They just don't learn how to apply makeup but learn how to act in a real shoot. They need to understand when it is the right time to correct any makeup or do touch ups. They need to understand that its a joint effort in making perfect pictures.
The relationship between Makeup Artist and Photographer is very important. This can be the essence of creating the perfect look. Atmosphere and ambiance really shows in the final image.
our student learn all about #fashion-makeup and High Fashion makeup at The Lipstick Makeup Institute. If you want to excel in the world of makeup then join our Makeup Institute. We are Award winners 2017 and 1018 for a reason.
We really love what we do. Its a lifestyle not just a career.
The Lipstick Makeup Institute Graduates worked at the Emirates Palace for a day.
20th of July, 2018 marks a very special day in the Lipstick Makeup Institute's history. Together with our partners from Ted Morgan, our former students took in the task of creating the looks for Chinese dancers and musicians who were invited to perform for UAE's Royal family and China's President Xi Jinping at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.
Artists from all around the world gathered in Abu Dhabi for this special event prepared performances that highlighted the relationship of the UAE with China with fusions of the Far and Middle East in song and dance.
Our graduates were challenged to do makeup on about 20 people in a span of 2 hours with the guidance of one of the teachers and organisers.
They were tasked to do traditional Chinese makeup with red and orange eyeshadow and a scarlet red lip.
They also did makeup on the European and Emirati Musicians with a classic light smokey eye and nude or red lips.
As for the kids, they had very simple makeup that suit their age and performance - clean foundation, blush, lip gloss.
As the students hustle backstage, Chinese Reporters come in and out of the makeup room to interview the performers.
It was a very busy and stressful day but in the end, it was all worth it.
The Life of a Makeup Artist
Have you ever spent hours late at night watching makeup tutorials online and thought…hmm I’d love to be her/him one day.I bet you have as I have in the past. I have imagined working with famous celebrities and traveling around the world doing what I love, while getting paid for it.
So I took the chance, flew to Dubai and the rest was history.
I thought the life of a Makeup Artist was easy.
Believe me, I had to crawl my way into the industry, as years ago, makeup artists from my country were not as in demand as they are now.
I had to train every single day crying while I drew eyeliners. I have lived in places not suitable for human beings and worked with impossible personalities.
But in spite of all that, I kept going. I honed my skills, trying to gain as much experience as I can, learned from different styles of makeup from different people, and always having that goal of stepping up in my career.
Fast-forward 15 years later, I still haven’t reached all my goals. So far, I’ve crossed out a few things off my bucket list though - such as, worked for VIPs of Dubai, princesses, celebrities, worked in media, getting my work published in magazines, attending classy events, meeting amazing people in the industry and so much more.
Now because of all the experiences I’ve had, I can teach a new generation of men and women what I’ve learned. And maybe you don’t have to go through what I’ve gone through by taking our Platinum Makeup Course this Ramadan.
The Lipstick Makeup Institute is offering a 40% discount 25,000 AED to 15,000 AED for a limited time. If you take this course, I’m sure you’ll get ahead in the game really fast. Just call: 0528349964

What a great pool shoot with Lara Tabet
Amazing Pool Shoot with a beach body to die for!
Hi Guys I'm Chaliya the new head makeup artist here at The Lipstick Makeup Institute.
Im British from the UK, I have lived in Dubai for 4 years.
I have a huge passion for make up. I previously worked for Mac Cosmetics in Dubai & London Harrods, which was what influenced me to become a makeup educator.
"Its a beautiful thing when a career and a passion come together"
I love being able to pass on my knowledge of makeup to the students & watch them develop into great makeup artists.
I am teaching master classes with the students, where they get to learn all aspects of makeup from beauty to special effects. This is when they can really show their talents. Their imaginations can run wild.
We have many courses for beginners who have no experience in makeup. We teach them everything they need to know.
My 1st out of studio shoot was an amazing experience. In an amazing location in City Walk Dubai.
Working with the sand & water between your toes, out in the sun what more could you want!

Lets celebrate all the lovely Mums!
The Lipstick Makeup Institute was a part of the Mothers Day makeup filming in Osh Kosh baby store.
Your setup reflects you. Make sure that your makeup products and brushes are always clean and well organised.
We took our students to experience the working on a location and in front of camera feeling of the Mothers Day makeup filming .
Our students were responsible for a nice flawless and fresh makeup on these lovely ladies.
The task was easy. The mothers got few questions to answer while our students are pampering them and making sure they look lovely and perfectly made up. In this case the perfectly made up means not over the top, nothing glamorous but just a touch of makeup what will make the face fresh, the skin flawless.
The less is always more. This is the most important to memorise!
Always work with the face and the features. Don't try to apply the same makeup style on every single face.
We are all unique, we all have a different personality also different needs when it comes to makeup. What will suit to me won't suit you and to some other person.
Our students are trained in that way to recognise the needs of different faces and features. Makeup is used to enhance the beauty and correct the small imperfections not to make you look like a different person.
Todays makeup look was a Mothers Day makeup. Why is it different than the other makeup looks?
Its very light as a base. On the eyes we were using beige, browns with a touch of highlight. Mascara of course is a must. On the cheeks we added a touch of peach-orange colour to give a refreshing effect for the face as some of our ladies didn't sleep much. On the lips a transparent lipgloss.
Our students in action. Beautifying our lovely models.
It was fun. We heard loads of stories about the funniest stories about their kids, the most important words they love to hear from their kids, and the everyday with 2 or 3 kids in the house.
All these lovely ladies deserve loads of attention, love and pampering... not only when its Mothers Day... but every day!!
Another interesting day using Cool UV Makeup and at The Lipstick makeup Institute. We gave our students an opportunity to use their skills that they have learnt. I have them to the task apply simple techniques.
We have a party to attend for Career soon and they want this kind of tribal make up. so the students can have experience at this kind of body spray work I set them thee task. I bought the stencils from the art shop and the paints from, "kryolan". Some are UV and some not. The UV just looks so vibrant though.
We started with the green Cool UV makeup base and to get a clear smooth body spray cover is also an art. Slowly and evenly is always the best. Its better to do a few layers then one really full one as the paint will run. You also get different textures and tones if you apply in the correct way. If you want this of course. It does create more depth rather than one block colour.
After this is applied then we can start with the stencils. As I told the students its best to wet the Aqua colours and dab rather than brush. This way you will get and even effect without brush strokes.
The trick is all to work fast! efficient, confident will work best with this kind of UV Makeup. Also, not to make it look like stencils. To do the work on the arm you have to repeat the stencil 3 times so join the line up! Use free hand. Give some depth to it also by adding some gold or brown to create a 3D effect.
Here are a few shots from behind the scenes and a couple from the final images in the studio.
Please enjoy them, we enjoyed really creating the look.
